In reply to: Please Help! My website is gone….!Okay folks,
Uploaded everything again, overwrote the older files…running /wp-admin/upgrade.php or /wp-admin/install.php gives me the same old white screen.
Any other ideas before I delete everything from my server and start all over from scratch ( i do have a relativeley recent backup of everything)

In reply to: Different sidebars for each page, or asidesTerm1nal,
I have different sidebars on each of my pages, done the old fashioned way, with a different templates for each page. It works, but it is a pain.
I don’t know if you ran across it in your search, but a while back I began a thread on the same subject: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/55732
Things got a little off-topic, but seemed to offer some new ideas.
Let me know if it helps you. I was never able to get this to work on my site, but it’s probably due to my limited understanding of PHP.
What I’d really like to know: can I use a similar script so that all of my pages can use a single template, and call supporting sidebar information from other posts or pages for each page?
I don’t really understand if this is possible or not.
BTW kdharris’ text file with the complete code is gone, but I’ve posted it at https://www.johnhorneguitar.com/sidebar.txt in case you’d like to check it out.
best,

In reply to: problem styling Democracy poll pluginJust thought I’d update to say that There doesn’t seem to be this problem in other themes so there must be some CSS interference in my theme or something.
No replies nessecary.

In reply to: Thoughs on themes wider than 800px?I guess there a way to achieve this with a theme using graphics for a background? Like Kubrick or relaxation?
If so, it seems beyond my CSS skills.

Man, that is sweet.
I’ll give it a try later on and see is I can make it happen.
The only reason I have different page templates is so I could include the code to call a different sidebars to each one.
I’ll touch base later and let you know if I had any success.

In reply to: More elegant way to display different sidebars on each page?judyschmitz,
I just used:
<?php include 'Events_sidebar.php'; ?>
to call the page I wanted. Of course, as I said before each side bar has it’s own template too and thats when things start getting a bit bulky.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: More elegant way to display different sidebars on each page?hi kdharris,
Very nice.
My knowledge of php is pretty poor, mostly learned through dealing with WP, but this looks promising. From what I understand, the sidebar.txt file calls the sidebar depending on what the content page is – right?
I’ll definitely have to bone up on my php before I try this, though.
Thanks for your help!
