Sorry I figured out where to put the code you gave me. But as you said the site is officially non responsive which I had not noticed until you mentioned it to me and I went on my phone to check. What would you suggest to fix and make the site mobile friendly?

Well the only reason why the height was set to 560 is because that is the actual height of that background image that has the box with the circle icon in it. I wasn’t sure if changing that to a bigger number would cause the image to enlarge itself too much.

I also can’t seem to figure out where to put the line of code you added it seems when I add it all it does is add it as text not code. I am guessing I put it in the wrong place? I placed it right before the div tag at the end of my code.

Yes but how do I fix the problem with the height so that the footer pushes itself to display under all the text? The background is just an image I inserted with some code that allowed me to place text over the image. The code I used was this one:

<div style="background-image:url(https://bit.ly/2JOum3);background-repeat:no-repeat;height:200px;width:200px;margin-top:20px;"><h1 style="color:black;line-height:18px;padding:20px 10px 2px 20px;">This is a Sample Headline</h1><p style="color:black;padding:2px 10px 10px 20px;">This is sample paragraph text on top of an image. You may need to change the color of the text so it's readable over the image.</p></div>

All I did was change the link in the image url to my image link and replace the text with my text.

Thank you now that I know about this plugin I can go there for any additional help if I should ever need assistance thanks again ??

Thank you. I went ahead and downloaded and installed the plugin you suggested and just did a test on a post and it seems to be working great for now. Hopefully this can solve the issue once and for all but if anything happens again I will just switch to the parent theme and deactivate plugins to see if this helps. But I appreciate the help.

But if I switch to parent theme how will I make the changes I need within my site? I created child theme because the last time when I edited my site I lost all my edits because I edited the code within parent theme and then a theme update wiped out all the work I had done. I just want to make sure I don’t lose anything again.

Thank you for that update I will check out that plugin now and see if it can resolve my issue once and for all. I’m thinking this must be a problem with the way wordpress is installed on my site because the other site I have been working on has not given me any trouble like this at all.

Yes but the issue has returned again. I have no idea if I should just save my files and child theme files and just reinstall wordpress again or what I should do. I had to log into my other sites dashboard just to gain access to the wordpress settings I was talking about. From there I typed up my content formatted it the way I wanted and copy and pasted it into the post of the site I am working with. The little toggle button that was there is not displaying and the toolbar which was there is not there I have no idea why it is not.

I guess I should have been more specific. I am playing a game of run around. I am using customizr theme. I have already asked a few times in their thread here on wordpress for assistance. Between wordpress itself and the people over at customizr I am getting the run around. Customizr already told me they could not help me since my issue is not customizr related but rather wordpress related. WordPress told me they could not help me since my issue is theme related. It seems no one knows which one of the two it is and I am not sure if it is a theme issue or a wordpress issue since both of them keep giving me the run around.

Also as far as I know of the dashboard on wordpress and it’s settings should look exactly the same no matter which theme you use since from what I understand it all dashboards are the same minus whatever added plugins you add to it which should tell me that if I click on post> add new from the dashboard that the settings within that post should be the same no matter what the theme.

I guess what I don’t understand then is why does my website show according to the ink you provided me that I have 216 errors when I type in the URL if I use my site and it has not given me any errors or problems at all minus the breaks which I fixed? Should I be concerned with these 216 errors that are being displayed if my site is not giving me any sort of problems until now? I also have a custom CSS plugin installed which is where I was putting all of my custom css code in.

I also understand my text needs some padding so it stays within the borders I had not gotten around to that yet as I was focused on fixing the break tags before adding padding but I will be sure to get to this now thank you for bringing it up.

@jose but I was using a child theme. How do I make sure that the CSS is valid? All my child theme files are already set up and I used customizr theme not unite so I wouldn’t know where you got unite theme since I have not used that theme for this site.

The code I got from the user before has resolved my issue but I am hoping the issue does not return again.

    Thread Starter johnnyr860

    (@johnnyr860)

This works great (well for now) hopefully wordpress doesn’t decide to remove it again because the last bits of code I used were just stripped away by wordpress automatically but for now this does the trick so thank you ??

Honestly? Wow I think I must have been sleeping all this time I can’t believe how blind I am to have missed this. Wow the fix was so simple yet I hadn’t noticed. Thank you my wordpress has been restored like it should ??

    (@johnnyr860)

The bottom half of that toolbar picture where it says paragraph with the underlined U next to it well that entire bottom part of the toolbar is what I am missing from my wordpress. However if I log into my other wordpress dashboard for the other site I am working with that tool bar is there and displays paragraph and all the other features it has in your picture.

    Thread Starter johnnyr860

    (@johnnyr860)

There is a theme called unite and when I switched to it this seems to work but when I go to customizr it does not work. I should also specify that i have 2 websites I am working on so when I log in to this one I am working on now this is the one with the issue. However if I login to the dashboard of my other site and use customizr theme there is no problems at all the options show up in customizr theme or any other theme as well so I am not sure if it is a problem with the way wordpress is installed on the site that is giving me problems which is strange since I checked both sites and they both use the latest version of wordpress.
