In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?Thank you so much for the help. I figured it out without the plug in. I did a search and found someone had a similar problem with this a while back and one of the responses posted the hard Html code to use and I just replaced the URL with link to my picture and it worked. Hey you have been so great and I appreciate all of your help here I thank you promptly for your time.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?I will contact them then. Very strange because it only happens with this plug in. None of the other plug ins I downloaded had this issue but this one. They have the same plug in but in German but I don’t speak German so good luck getting me to understand what the plug in says if I was to download the german version. Either way if this is the only plug in you can think of then I must have to contact my website host and see what they say because I cannot figure out why this is the only plug in I have downloaded that did this.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme? At this point I just need to find how to add the picture. I found a widget called text. I was able to add this to my site so now the sidebar on the right shows random text I added as a test however the box where I typed in the text had no options to upload a picture or anything.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?I have not seen any tutorials sorry. I was reading an ebook and the guy who wrote it said pick a simple theme that has a sidebar so you can add your picture to it with an about me discription of yourself. As for the link of the lady I cannot confirm since I was searching and randomly found her site on my searches.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?I understand but I never added any widgets to my site. This most likely already came with the theme when I downloaded it. I downloaded the theme I have yet to download any widgets on my themes at all. I found the widget you speak of and was able to change the name from about me to hello just as a test. However I still don’t know how to add my picture to the side bar like the lady in the link I gave you did. She even managed to add details about herself right under the picture but I have no clue how to add these things. Is there something I need to install for this or widget I should be using?

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?Since your not understanding what I am saying then allow me to show you a print screen. Yes the side bar links are clickable.

Take a look and tell me what you see to the right of my website? There is the words “about me” in bold letters. This is NOT clickable.
Right under the words “About me” is a link that says “About me” that link that says “about me” is clickable. However the words “about me” which you can clearly see in bold are NON clickable. What I want is to place a picture of myself in between the bold “about me” and the link that says about me just like the lady on this site did-

Notice how the picture of the lady has the words “about me” right above it and you cannot click on that. This is exactly what I wish to do with my site that I am not sure how to do.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?Again that is exactly what I did before. I am on the main admin wordpress menu. I click on the pages tab. The pages that show up on the list are the same exact 3 I told you before. When you go to the top of that menu and click on dashboard and then click on view your site it takes you to my site in which case you can see the side bar to the right. If you click on the about me page located on the right menu bar it takes you to my about me page which is great. But that is not what I wanted to do. Right above that about me link I wish to add a picture of myself with text about me. If you notice right above the about me link it also says about me and that 1st about me is non clickable. I wish to add my picture right under that one with my text.

In reply to: How do I edit the about me section of my word press theme?I am sorry I think you misunderstood. I created my own page called about me. I changed my wordpress theme from the one I had before to another which is the one you saw when you clicked my link. The about me that you see there to the right was not on the old wordpress theme I had before. I created a page called about me and titled it about me so that when I went to edit it I could click on about me and edit it. There is no static page called about me I have no clue where that would be. The only pages listed when I click on pages tab on my main wordpress menu dashboard is About me, contact me, and privacy policy of course about me being the page I created not one that wordpress already had there.
So this is not working. I have tried everything and I am not even sure how to make the thing do what I want. In fact why click more? Is there a way to make the entire post just show up without having to have the person click on more? I want the entire post to show up without having to have them click more. I just have no clue what the code for this is or where to even insert it. I am sorry but I know like nothing about code. I use word press for their simple site builder but if you ask me anything about HTML I get like really lost and have no clue what I am even doing sorry.

In reply to: How do I install wordpress on Tripod?I have no clue what your talking about. I use fetch on Mac. It is free and is FTP. I have always used FTP to upload to my FREE tripod website. So I am not sure why your saying a free website does not have FTP when I have done it many many times before on my free tripod account in fact I just pulled up my own website right now. What I don’t know is what to do with the wordpress files I have downloaded as there are tons of folders and files and the directions I see posted here on wordpress are very complicated and confuse me more every time I read them.

In reply to: How do I install wordpress on Tripod?Yes that is the website. I had done a google search and it took me forever and I found some people had posted something about getting wordpress on their site but these posts were made years ago. I have made my own websites and uploaded them using FTP in the past so I know for sure I don’t have to use their site builder I can upload my own files. I have just never ever used wordpress so I am unsure what to do with these tons and tons of folders and files I downloaded.
