I have a steady flow of dubious subscribers (wp 5.2.2). Is the Capta solution best?

Thank you. Follow-on: I am using buttons in my Contact page to let people who arrive there go to other pages in website. For example, I have posted the first chapter of my novel on a page called Novels. There is a MaxButton on the page to “Read” and another button (“Listen”) offers to transfer to an audio file of Chapter 1. That button works fine with the URL https://johnbairdrogers.com/audio
clips. The “read” button gives an error. I have tried using the whole URL (as in audio, above) and the shorter /Novels/ There is a Return button on each of the pages directed to. That button uses /contact/ as the URL, and it works fine.
On the Contacts page, the buttons look like this:

Various tries at different URL’s of the Read button always give me: This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

Thanks for that clear instruction. Still same problem. There is a gray balloon on the right margin of the main text area. Some of my viewers have figures out that when you punch it, it brings up all comments made so far and the comments box. But it’s not obvious.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m new to the forum, and the warning for this area said no URLs. Mine is https://johnbairdrogers.com Interestingly, when I preview a post, I see the comments box. When I post, the box disappears. I’ve tried to reset my blog to show only one post at a time, hoping that would solve the problem, but that attempt through settings didn’t seem to take.

Thanks. I have settings to allow comments, but I went in and approved anyway. Shut down wp. reopened wp. No comments.
