I have a similar problem that the visual editor no longer exists and I can’t update any of my pages.
I upgraded to 4.0, then downloaded the GoogleMaps plugin.
I then had the problem with the pages/visual editor. I then deleted the plugin, however the problem still exists and I cannot edit any pages.
