  • Have you added the background image to WordPress using the theme customizer?

    WordPress, by default, does not have an option to add an alpha channel (transparency) to background colors. You could try a plugin to do that – I’m not 100% sure if one exists, but I’m currently looking into it.

    As far as the ‘Posted by box,’ it contains what is known as the Post Metadata. If you are talking about making the white border around the box black, put the CSS at the bottom of this post at the bottom of your style.css file.

    If you plan on updating this theme in the future, you should take note of the modifications that you have made or look into Child_Themes.

    Let me know if this helps!

    CSS to turn the box border black:

    .postmetadata {clear:both; margin:20px 0; padding:5px 10px; background:#000000; border:1px solid #000000 ! important;}

    If you would like the box border to be the same green as the rest of the green on your site, use the following:

    .postmetadata {clear:both; margin:20px 0; padding:5px 10px; background:#000000; border:1px solid #00ff00 ! important;}

    If you would like, you can add a simple horizontal line between posts with the tag <hr>.

    For example:

    <?php the_content(); ?>

    <!-- <div class="more">
    		<a class="readmore" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php _e( 'Read More &raquo;', 'myknowledgebase' ); ?></a>
    	</div> -->

    <hr>

    The problem seems to be that your theme wasn’t coded to display the entire content of the post, it was hardcoded to display only the excerpt. A difference of <?php the_excerpt(); ?> and <?php the_content(); ?>.

    Below, I’ve included a section of code that should replace lines 33 through 37 of the index.php file for your theme. It changes the_excerpt to the_content and removes the Read More link through the use of code commenting <!-- Commented Out Code -->. This should also allow you to see the images in your post.

    Please let me know if this solves your issue!

    <?php the_content(); ?>

    <!-- <div class="more">
    		<a class="readmore" href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php _e( 'Read More &raquo;', 'myknowledgebase' ); ?></a>
    	</div> -->

    Are you asking about posting links to a site like Facebook that pull different images other than ones in your blog post or do you have a plugin that automatically posts to a social media site whenever you have a new post.

    It sounds like it might be a problem with the external social media site pulling in a different image. You might want to contact their support. For example, whenever you post a link to Facebook, there is normally a set of arrows beneath the preview image that allow you to cycle through different images until you find the one you want.

    Let me know if that answers your question!

    The best option would be Creating_a_Static_Front_Page. You can set it to be any page that you create and keep all of the posts separate.

    You would then be able to define another page, an example being one labeled ‘Blog’ as your posts page and all of your content would be there as well as on their individual category pages. At the same time, you don’t have to set a posts page and then the posts will only show up on their respective category pages.

    I’m glad you found another theme. What theme is it? That way I can take a look at the files.

    I’m not in front of my computer right now. The theme will stay with your modifications if you switch themes. I’ll have to take a look again at your issue when I get back to my computer.

    Where do you have that image in your theme? Did you upload it as a custom header image in the theme customizer or are you using a plugin?

    Based on that link, the header seems to be removed already; can you provide some more clarification on what you’re trying to achieve?

    The header in Twenty Fifteen is in the sidebar. Commenting out the header would only move the sidebar up.

    Can you provide a link to your website?

    What is the name of the plugin?

    Are you using a plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory to translate pages? Please provide some more information

    The code I provided works for the Preus theme from the WordPress Theme Directory. If you have made modifications to it, the code might not work. Taking a closer look at your theme, I have provided code below which will probably work with the modifications that you made. Replace what you currently have in custom CSS with the code below.

    Let me know your results.

    #primary-nav-wrapper {
    	padding-top: 0px;
    }

    #content {
    	padding-top: 0px;
    }

    #masthead {
    	margin: 60px auto 0px auto;
    }

    .metaslider metaslider-nivo metaslider-146 ml-slider {
    	margin: 0px auto 0px auto;
    }

    .nivo-controlNav {
    	padding: 15px 0px 15px;
    }

    You can find the dedicated Preus Support Forum here.

    If you go to Administration > Appearance > Preus Settings and click on the layout settings tab you will find a Custom CSS Box. If you insert the follow code into that box, it will move the top of the navigation bar to the bottom of your header. Adjust the pixel values to your liking.
