In reply to: 3.0 Upgrade did not upgrade user_roles option for existing sitesI “upgraded” from 3.0RC3 to WP 3.0.3.
No change.
Still have no “Users” menu item and the “edit user” on create new user still renders “cheatin’ huh”
If I am logged on as an “administrator” should I not see all the menu items? I remember changing the default “admin” loggin user to XXXXX. Might that have anything to do with it. The new “admin” XXXXX was created as an administrator.
help

In reply to: 3.0 Upgrade did not upgrade user_roles option for existing sitesI have searched and cannot find and answer to my problem.
My admin menu has NO User section.
When I go to Profile I get an “add User” menu option and an “add User page” but when I click the “edit User” button at the top all I get is “Cheatin Huh”
Where is my User Menu?
I am using WP 3.0.RC3 Any Ideas ??

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Is Wp Super Cache Compatible with 2.9.1?Wp Super Cache does NOT work for me in 2.9.1 I had errors from the beginning when I upgraded to 2.9.1 Can’t pin down the error, so I just disabled the plugin… using Theme Max Is Now and all plugins worked perfectly in 2.8.6 …. Trouble is ALL of my plugins are disabled due to funny errors in 2.9.1 ???

In reply to: Akismet and WP2.9I uploaded the INCLUDES folder…no change…
I installed 2.9 rc 1…. no change
I changed themes and even used default… no change.
Did a clean install of 2.9 onto another server… and Akismet plugin shows no error in the DASHBOARD like the main WordPress installation. Seems to hold even when changing themes. DAGON SITEMAP works but has errors in the background:
Warning: Unknown: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_d62f34a11b953070e9181304e81afb22, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/php_sessions) in Unknown on line 0
How does one edit or update the /var/php_sessions data??
SUPER CACHE works on the new install of 2.9 (new site), but not on the orginial site which was both auto upgrade and a clean install…?
WordPress Automatic Upgrade works on the clean install (new website), but not on the original site.
Used same modified theme on both sites and the default. The errors appear in the old site, but not in the new install on the new site…so that tells me that it is not a theme error.
Would be nice to pin down some of these tiny errors…??

In reply to: header, entry, headline text; changing font sizeSome things in WordPress are changed in your dashboard and settings within Site Admin. Other things, like your theme Atahualpa, are changed in the style.css file. If you are careful, you can use the EDIT function in the APPEARANCE / EDITOR buttons. Look for the Style.css file on the right and click it.
Now look for the lines that describe your HEADER text or .blogtitle / .blogtitle a (which means the LINK to your blog) and change the number like 11px or 12px etc.
Of course, the HELP section inside WordPress is very useful as well as the Documentation link at https://www.www.ads-software.com and Theme Help

In reply to: Text jumps each time I type in my blogI really, really hate the jumping editor window!
I have noticed that even if you disable the AUTOSAVE the window will jump back to almost the top of the editing window if you move the cursor out of the text editing window…
As long as your cursor stays in the editor it won’t jump, but if you move to another function, like select a category or edit the tags, the stupid cursor jumps back to almost (not quite ??) the top of the editor window. Increasing the size of the edit window just increases the size of the “jump”…
Why can’t the edit window just stay where you left it if you move your mouse? Is there an alternate “editor” plugin?
Very, very annoying.

In reply to: [Plugin: Enhanced WP Contact Form] Usage in sidebar?Hey Me Too,
Anybody there?? what is the PHP or JavaScript code to add this contact form into the sidebar.php etc…
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Static pages same positionMax! Awesome stuff!
I have edited the sidebar to try and change the “WordPress” link to “WP”. No matter how many changes I make and FTP the sidebar.php code to my blog site, NO CHANGES will take effect.
I can change the CSS file, FTP it, and the changes are immediate, but when I edit the header.php, sidebar.php, footer.php files the changes will not take effect.
I am missing something completly and it driving me crazy.

In reply to: Slow Sites with 2.1I know this is 11 months later, but I found out something that was making my blog load time to more than 25-30 seconds.
I discovered that my server changed to webpage specific nomenclature in the SQL config database files.
In my wp-config.php file I changed from mysql13.powweb.com (my original ISP) to the specific SQL database for my webpage… websiteName.powwebmysql.com . . .
voila! Loads in 5 seconds now!
Check the data in your wp-config file.
Hope this helps someone….
