We will look into adding a toggle to set the “requiresPrivacyConsent” parameter to the init call within the plugin: https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/web-sdk-reference

This will require you to add code to your site to call the setConsentGiven method when ready to init the SDK: https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/web-sdk-reference#setconsentgiven

This is likely what you were doing previously when disabling OneSignal init and writing additional code. The goal of this plugin is to make the integration simpler while adding the same functionality that we provide our non-wordpress customers.

1 – setting data tags to group these users

2 – creating segments for these tags

3 – sending push to these segments.

We will take this into consideration, but my suggestion is to either check or uncheck the box before you publish or update the post depending on if you want to send a push notification or not.

The concept of clicking a checkbox to send a push when a post is published or updated should be a relatively simple and small decision to make without needing complexity around whether it should be checked or unchecked by default.

So you have the “Automatically send notifications when a post is published or updated” selected and you do not want to send a push when the post is updated.

Am I understanding correctly?

Are you unable to uncheck the box when you update the post?
