I only came across shortcodes when googling for WP Twitter Embeds and getting this wordpress.com page (https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-embeds/) rather than the appropriate www.ads-software.com page: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Embeds
However, I’m finding the whole WP Twitter Embed function very erratic itself anyway—just displaying the URL a lot of the time. So, I’ve decided to just the HTML code Twitter itself provides instead: https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-tweets
