In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.Wow.. The IRS comes in for an audit. This is what I get for trying to help out around here. You actually went as far as to ban my plugin even though there are hundreds of plugins out there that do everything that my plugin does.

In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.I added the modlook tag just after my second post. Sorry about that.
So is there a problem with me paginating more then three times and answering people that have the exact problem that my plugin solves?
..such as these posts, of which I believe that I posted to, but my comments are not displaying:
Plugin to Hide Sidebar on a particular Page/Post?

https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/sidebar-38?replies=2I clicked on the sidebar tag on the forum homepage and read threads for six pages. As for the other plugins, given, I don’t provide support for them and I don’t know what they do. All that I know is what TWC does.
Totally not trying to be a jerk here, esmi just pisses me off and I’m trying real hard to contain that.

In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.Sure, but at the same time, you encourage that people search for their answers before posting it again, which assumes that they’ll find an old post with an answer. And you tell people to not bump their posts, thus the only solution for speaking out in your mind, would be to create a duplicate post.
Maybe I just don’t understand your thought process.
I built TWC to solve many problems with sidebar customization. So it makes complete since that I would post a link to TWC verses telling them how to build TWC to solve their problems.
I learn from my mistakes, I would like to ask for you to show me the posts that you removed my comments from and tell me why they were flagged.

In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.I see, so this whole forum is guilty until proven innocent.
Would you mind showing me one of the topics that you deemed inappropriate and removed?

In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.I strayed away from the ones that had been specifically resolved.

In reply to: I think my posts are hitting the trash again.I posted on topics that were exactly related to my plugin.
The old posts that I posted on had no responses to them, thus posting to those topics was perfectly relevant AND ENCOURAGED via the “Helping Out” documentation listed here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Helping_Out. This is why bumping is discouraged, because there’s a specific tag set aside for this.
According to the documentation what I was doing was perfectly acceptable, and I’ve read all of the documentation that I could find in order to stay within the boundaries.

In reply to: Two Different Sidebars?Actually I wouldn’t worry about downloading a new theme. The “Total Widget Control” plugin is exactly designed to do what you are looking for.
You’ll be able to have a different array of widgets on every page, using only a single sidebar.

In reply to: is there a plugin like this i can install? It gives me a nice API to dev off of. I’ll have your widget done within the next couple of days.

In reply to: Memory Leak with multiple blogsOh, I was saying that I have 15 sub blogs of the one wpmu install. Each time that I create a new subblog the memory requirements jump significantly.

In reply to: is there a plugin like this i can install?Go install https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/total-widget-control/ and I’ll build this for you.

In reply to: Memory Leak with multiple blogsI did disable all of the plugins to rule them out. I disabled them one at a time by clearing the php from their loader files and the memory was still being consumed.
I haven’t even considered trying to recreate this error with a second wpmu setup. Probably willn’t try that option for a while.
Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Dashboard widgetsInteresting that you mention this. I was thinking about tapping into the dashboard via Total Widget Control and allowing people to manage their dashboard widgets the same as the frontend widgets.
If I see any more requests for this I’ll probably add it.

In reply to: WordPress Is Nice But… Website or Blog?I get what you’re saying @jzenman. What I’ve found is that I say “WordPress is a good option” and the response is always, “isn’t that for blogs”.
And they WERE right at one point. WordPress however, is on it’s way to becoming a very well crafted content management system. IT DOES still need adjustments in order to put it over the top. But that’s not to say that it can’t be used to build websites in it’s current form, rather then blogs.
We built The Total Widget Control Plugin to help make WordPress a very viable CMS solution.
As for your question, it would require another plugin to do what you’re asking. WordPress is very happy with the direction that they’re going and they’re not going to shift path’s just because some people want to minimize.
I think what really needs to happen, is that somebody just needs to build a plugin that changes the verbage from blog to website verbage. Such as NEWS instead of POSTS.

In reply to: Widgets Page does not load properlyYou don’t need to remove jquery from your theme. Want I suggest is that you open the javascript console in google chrome and have a look at what exactly is throwing the JS error.
If you’ve developed this theme yourself I’m sure that you’re familiar with the browsers dev tools. It could be something simple as a plugin causing the conflict.
Ok, I setup a second dev site as a fresh 3.1.1 wpmu install and found the bug. TWC is WPMU compatible. Version 1.6.14 is running on 5 WPMU sites that I know of.
I’m uploading the tag right now. check it out and let me know the results.
