Hello, I am on the same boat…
I use DirectAdmin as my web server panel. I installed the Imagemagick package 7.1.1-38 and Also the PHP extension Imagick 3.7.0 both builds (using in DirectAdmin what is called “custombuild”) went through without errors, I added to my php.ini extension=imagick.so and restarted the web server (LiteSpeed), still no luck. Chances are the problem is on DirectAdmin’s end (because it always is) but I would like your input on what else I can try.

The setup is in one of the latest AlmaLinux and DirectAdmin with PHP 8.1.

To test if Imagick is running you are supposed to run the command convert -version (or magick -version)

Alright I deleted all files in the plugin directory and transferred a backup copy from a month ago and it all works again.. it was your plugin’s update.

I am a paying customer of many plugins and their yearly subscriptions and so forth and their service is terrible (for most of them). You receive no benefit from me and yet you answered promptly and pointed me in the right direction so thanks for your professionalism.

I think that might be the issue the update to 3.36. I have tried in Visual Studio Code, PHPMyAdmin, Notepad++, Metapad and Notepad 2 editing the export JSON file to just change the arrows and Flex to “Resposive” but the arrays in the export file and the meta fileds are so complicated it is impossible to get those batch replacements, I will try to see if I can revert to your previous version and see if that fixes it, where can I get the previous version of the plugin? I might have it in my backups I guess…

I found in your settings the field and part of the array I guess I can simply find and replace..
inside: ml-slide_settings the portion :\”type\”;s:4:\”flex\”; I will also look for next and previous to replace them with arrows and that should take care of it in the mean time but I would like to know why the FlexSlider stopped working.

Hopefully I don’t have problems replacing I have MariaDb and many times it is very hard to do the right syntax to find and replace, especially with arrays as complicated as yours.

I am my server administrator and that is a server I personally assembled and configured, I have been a web server deployment specialist and manager for 25 years and have had in large co-location facilities upwards of 20 servers managing more than 10 thousand websites at a time. So this is not a novice talking.
The only difference this time is that specific server I configured with litespeed and cyberpanel and it is for my own business alone ( a hole massive web server for just one large website), cyberpanel has been unstable in a few aspects I have to admit that could be the source of the problem, I don’t remember if I had the same problem previously when that site was running on a cpanel /apache server.

Cyberpanel/Open Litespeed uses lsphp not php-fpm. I will look into that as well, that might be part of the problem.

To solve I am downloading those backups using ftp instead and throttling the connection, I just tested earlier and that will be the temporary solution. When I throttle and via the ftp port there is no issue, I was able to open as many pages as I wanted instantaneously.

I will talk to the company selling me the co-location service as well there might be a problem with the settings on the switch where they have me running.

I found a post with an explanation on how to remove everything that plugin contaminates in the database to clean up all the mess that plugin causes and I removed it entirely…

Hard to believe someone builds a plugin that can be so powerful and dangerous for a site and they do not provide a clean way to remove it.

Several comments about your comment.

I used to be a very large web developer (since 1998, aside from being a programmer of several computer languages) and have developed myself directly close to one thousand sites for businesses in 14 countries and 4 languages, I used to also oversee a web hosting operation with close to 6 thousand websites, and was also a huge SEO specialist in my area positioned thousands of pages for many companies in top 5 positions. That includes positions competing against (and beating) major firms with budgets for advertising in the millions per month. The positioning game changed a lot and there are many many factors that play a role nowadays but a huge one is the lighthouse scoring and that is why I spent a big budget in many aspects to accomplish my all green scores only to lose one of them now.

I have tested thoroughly to a degree you could not even imagine several of the top 10 cache plugins available and Lightspeed Cache is the only one that has caused me to have to re-install my entire site now for a third time. This one is my own business, my own site.

The reason being the htaccess and changes it does in several places are not cleanly removed when you de-activate the plugin and then you start having 404 and https errors all over the place which cannot be fixed by simply resetting permalinks and installing a fresh .htacccess file. Eventually you are forced to have to re-do the entire site, fortunately I learned my lesson and the site is backed up at least 5 times a day so I always have fresh backup copies.

And what is happening is the fault of Lightspeed because it is quite unstable and many times very unpredictable in how it feeds cache pages (reason being, you can test a page 10 times in a lapse of 1 hr and you will see different versions of that same page many times and that should never happen) that is the only cache plugin I know that has that problem, however, Lightspeed is the only one that got me to all green, that is the reason why I am trying so hard to get it back to work. In some pages I am already back to 80 to 88 mobile score and I have a few theories of how I can get back to over 90 but the problem is WHY it just stopped working for no reason.

I was very happy with a plugin called WP Optimize (which never , never ever collapsed my site and I would play and do whatever I ever wanted with it) but unfortunately when I bought and configured my new server I used OpenLiteSpeed because I had read about the supposed wonders of Memcache combined with Litespeed and little did I know that would mess up entirely my WP Optimize and those two platforms don’t play nice together, the only one that works properly for the web server software I have is Litespeed Cache because it is the same developer, the web server itself is ok but the cache plugin is a disaster. I am just not going to do 100 hours of work again to revert back to an apache server, so I have to make this work somehow.

What kills me is the unreliability of the software (and you can read thousands of posts about different issues).

I just don’t see why if I try a Cache plugin and does not work for me it has to kill my site when I remove it.

Playing with it I ended up having again a major collapse and I had to restore to a backup of last night and that one showed it was on guest mode ( I never enabled the guest mode myself). I disabled the guest mode and the pages show but the score is as bad as if I did not have the plugin installed at all.
I will play a little more with it and if I cannot get it to my previous numbers it will be removed.

The part that I don’t understand is why after about 2 months of having the thing working beautifully suddenly it started doing that.

I took the chance and disabled the plugin to see where I am and I still get spectacular desktop scores but the mobile goes on performance to between 63 to 70 in test pages (but at least the mobile version of the page shows properly), with the Litespeed plugin when it was working they would be between 90 and 94 any page I would test. But now it sends those text menu pages..

I disabled half of the features to test and I even ended up using the “Essentials” preset just to test, and still had the problem. I went on to disable most of the stuff and still the plugin enabled sends the text mobile pages.

When the plugin works the results are very impressive, I tested about 10 fancy cache plugins and this one by far is the best in results but the problem is how erratic it is, suddenly it has major failures. The current failure has made it impossible to keep it if I cannot determine why and solve.

Unfortunately as I said this is a massive site and it has about 60 plugins and tons and tons of customized scripts and things fine tuning the site to get pages to be all green took hundreds and hundreds of hours of very tedious and sophisticated work (including buying and even fine tuning a big web server and choosing a state of the art co-location facility) and reconfiguring lots of things to make everything work in synch, and finally I got it all to green a couple of months ago, finally I was able to simply start populating contents and puff the Litespeed plugin failed for no reason!

Who knows, maybe with so many plugins running together one or a couple of them got an update and that created the problem.

That is an example… the first image is what ALL mobile pages are now showing regularly..

Nothing was down ever in my site, I own a massive server co-located in a tier III facility and it gets monitored thousands to times a day, it has never ever been down neither has any page unless I am doing major changes which I was not at the time.

I ended up removing the widget pointing to your mini form to solve the issue and instead I am using your form in a popup using your settings and system and wow, I did not know how fantastic your system is, congrats!

I was using it in a very basic way but your plugin is far more powerful than I thought. I setup a popup form to trigger after scrolling over 35% of any page instead and it is working beautifully.

Now my question is different, I have a copy of that popup form I am trying to call from a menu item.

I tried to add filters to call a shortcode from the menu with no success,

How can I call your shortcode or popup form from a menu item?

As a reference for the example the menu item would be 2668 and the noptin form is 25663 so the shortcode would be [noptin-form id=25663].

I believe it does it only when an user is logged in you can simply create an account and see the problem. For users not logged in it does not happen.

You can see the problem when you click on the burgundy bars one says:

“Learn mode about this item (click here)

the other says:

“Learn more about BVLGARI (click here)

If you click them you will see the text deployed and when you click to collapse it again it takes you to the bottom entry field from your plugin and pops the tooltip.

I use collapsible texts in thousands of pages just like that example.

I have right click disabled but you can simply see the source code if you need to…

Hello, I did a lot of research on this the past few hours, the problem comes from the parameters by GZIP compression from the source (Apache) and the settings you have I found to be the industry standard so the problem is definitely not coming from your end, it is from Easy Apache 4 and probably the new mod_deflate I updated recently when I moved to HTTP2.
Your plugin was triggering it when selecting to use GZIP Compression, but then I deactivated it and reconfigured via Cpanel my GZIP and I still had the same headers and problem. So your plugin appeared to cause it due to your plugin enabling GZIP.

I found a super interesting article that shows a way to narrow the vary settings to 2 options (compressed encoded and the regular file) that should do the trick.

These are the parameters I found everywhere for GZIP and I believe are identical to what you use:

Unfortunately dealing with apache via Cpanel/WHM can be cumbersome but I will play with that in the next couple of days.

And BTW, I read lots of posts here in the support section for your plugin and I get the feeling many people do not know how to configure it because I played around with at least 15 others and yours gave me the best performance numbers by a big margin. It took a while to set it up right but once I was done the results were awesome. A close 2nd is Hummmingbird but yours is simpler and pre-loading the pages makes a huge difference in numbers.

Your plugin (and a wonderful plugin called Plugin Load Filter)have brought a massive website I have that uses over 40 plugins! to an A rating or high B in most test systems and in SEO analysis I get to 79 to 85 in score. I never dreamed that would be possible but tweaking a million things plus your plugin I am confident I will be able to position at least 200 pages very high in rankings on google.

Exploring more I am finding the problem presents when using a plugin named “Ajax Load More” and only in the results generated by queries through that plugin. Regular searches do not have a problem with the shortcodes in the manual excerpts.

I am posting that here because I will research more and post the solution in case other people have similar problems in the future.

Hopefully I can find a solution soon.

That is why privately your only answer was generic.. I waited for you to answer privately, now I am doing it here and getting your reaction.

I am actually playing with your plugin making changes I am testing a grid which was the reason to buy.

Your PRO options are all oriented towards categories, although that specific site has over 100 categories they are of 0 importance for the bookmark grid (not used in there).

I can change the CSS myself it will be easy, I already located where you have the things I need there I can customize it.

I have one single question for you or your developers:

Point me to what line in what file to change so I can show an excerpt (in my case and advanced excerpt) Instead of just showing the thumbnail and title (which is what your grid shows). The rest I will handle myself.

Point me in that direction and in a few minutes I will have it working the way I want.
