Thanks guys. Yeah I obviously should of moved it before before I pointed my url to my new site. I think I will have to point it back if I want to retrieve my files. Using my ip just to see the site didn’t seem to work either.

anyone? I think I figured out number 1. I had to add the ‘home’ page back on. I still don’t see where I can edit my second question or if 3 is possible.

I think I figured it out. I went into godaddy and unistalled my wordpress and then reinstalled it. You can choose to delete your old database or restore it if you want your old data.

I think the one main edit I had done with my previous theme was to have the top banner link back to the homepage. I only had 1 page(home) and the rest were just posts.

My whole top banner is just the little head icon in the top left. It expands all the way across with white. I don’t care if you specifically have to click the head or any part of the image that expands across the top. Thanks

Where do you post that line of code within the header.php?
Doesn’t seem to work for me. I’m using WPFolio for my theme. Do I need to change “banner” or just the domain in the code?

I ended up using a plugin called “frontpage manager”. It is working for now.

I still would like to know how to have my top image bar be a link back to my homepage.

OK I got it. I went in to themes. I deleted it out of the “available themes” area. Then went and added a new theme..searched for it and downloaded it again. Seems to work now. man..I am struggling to get my blog/site up and rolling. Thanks

Well I didn’t activate the default theme. It already comes activated. So yes, that worked. Then I activated the ‘classic theme’ and that worked. The reason I think it’s not the themes problem, is that it worked a few days ago until I changed my URL in general settings which made me unable to log in to my wp-admin. And now it seems if I activate it again or ever preview it, I get the same problem. (everything being white). Just seems like a big coincidence. And thousands of people are using that theme with no problems..I think?

Oh..I didn’t see your post SS_Minnow until after my previous post. Maybe thats the issue if the hosting plan thought it already had an installation? Is that a timing issue like I need to wait before uninstalling and installing?

wow guys. Here is a new one. I uninstalled wordpress. Reinstalled. Things seemed normal. Then went to themes and activated wpFolio. and boom. Everything white again when trying to go to josharris.com and josharris.com/wp-admin. So I uninstalled again, deleted my cache, restarted. Installed again. Before trying wpFolio again I scrolled over the ‘preview’ option and it shows just a white screen. I activated one of the other themes and it worked. But of course, I want wpFolio. Any idea what that issue could be? Thanks

Thanks everyone. I understand what I did was pretty dumb. I guess I just didn’t think it would be so hard to change back. To play it safe, I think I’m going to reinstall everything and start over. I probably need the practice. I truly appreciate all your help. I’ll let you know how it goes.
