In reply to: [Multiple Themes] IncompleteSince I’m trying to add this plugin to an existing site, changing all of my existing permalinks would hurt SEO. I supposed I could manually create a bunch of redirects, but that’s not really a practical solution. Especially since the current permalink structure was intentionally chosen and it wouldn’t make sense to change it site-wide just to make some certain categories use a different theme.
Another thing that this plugin is lacking (and to be fair, all multi-theme plugins I’ve seen are lacking this) is that it’s not possible (or at least not easy) to change options (such as menus, etc) for a category theme.

In reply to: [GYS Themed Categories] Exactly what I want, but not quite working.Well, seems like the activated themes options override any category theme options anyway. Maybe there’s not an easy way to have a separate set of options for a category theme. :-/

In reply to: [GYS Themed Categories] Exactly what I want, but not quite working.Luke, I have some thoughts about how this could be implemented. From the themes page in the WP dashboard, there is an option to preview a theme which takes you to customize.php and allows you to customize the options for the theme. The only problem is that after you customize the options, the only choice given is to “Save & Activate”. If your plugin added a button to this page to just “Save” without activating the theme, that might work perfectly. Not sure if it would end up overwriting the options for the main site’s them though.

In reply to: [GYS Themed Categories] Exactly what I want, but not quite working.I just switched from a local environment on WAMP to a local environment running nginx via Vagrant and VirtualBox. Not sure exactly why, but the 404 issue seems to have gone away. However, I am curious, Luke, have you added any way yet to configure the options for a category theme? Unfortunately, I don’t really have the luxury of being able to apply a different theme to the site in order to configure the options every time I want to set up a category theme.

In reply to: Cannot Communicate with WordPress ServersI’ve asked on WAMPs forum, but that place seems to be a ghost town. Do you have any ideas how I can make sure that httpd.exe can access the internet?

In reply to: WordPress Core and Plugins Not UpdatingYes, it’s pretty obvious that something is wrong with my network or system settings somewhere along the line, I’m just trying to figure out where to look for problems.

In reply to: WordPress Core and Plugins Not UpdatingThis is on my localhost, see my original post; I am running WordPress 3.6 (manually updated from 3.5.1) on WAMP on a Windows 7 machine.

In reply to: WordPress Core and Plugins Not UpdatingAll of my plugins. The ones that currently have updates are; Enable Media Replace, Gravity Forms, Gravity Forms MailChimp Add-On, Post Snippets, User Role Editor, W3 Total Cache, and WordPress SEO.
I know that is is not detecting updates because when I click on Dashboard > Updates > Check Again, it says “Your plugins are all up to date.” but there are updates available for the plugins I listed above.

In reply to: WordPress Core and Plugins Not UpdatingThanks. I updated WordPress manually, but I still need to update the plugins and solve the issue of WordPress being unable to detect new updates.
Nope, but Kraken.io has a WP plugin coming out that is going to blow smush.it out of the water. With the lack of support on this plugin, I think it’s more likely that the Kraken plugin will be complete before this plugin gets fixed. If you’re up for writing your own code to solve the problem, I’d recommend using Kraken as well, since their image optimization is even better than smushit.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] CDN Full Path MissingWhat do you mean that I should do? That isn’t clear to me.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] CDN Full Path MissingI should clarify, only things in the Media Library do this. Theme resources work fine.
If I bypass “check that the file is within the WP_CONTENT_DIR” by commenting out that loop, I get “unknown error”.

In reply to: [Amazon S3 Uploads] [Plugin: Amazon S3 Uploads] Activation FailureI’m having this issue too. Tried installing the php-curl extension with no luck.
I installed this plugin fine on one installation of WordPress, but when I tried to install it on my local installation of WordPress (which is pretty much a mirror of the one it worked on) I got the same error.
I tried deactivating all plugins, and even all custom themes. I cleaned my database, and I’m still getting this error. Any ideas?
