I had read that tiny mce can cause the visual editor to disappear. Sorry that wasn’t clear. I’ve renamed those folders as well and still no change.

I’ve done that and deleted all the inactive plugins and ones i don’t
need at this stage to take me back to the basics of what I had when it was working. I saw something in another forum about Tiny Mice or something that often is a culprit? Do you know anything about that?

I renamed the plugins folder as you mentioned and got WordPress back yay! But when I go to see the installed plugins, it says Plugin xxxx “has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist”

How do I resolve this?

I began to deactivate the plugins and lost WordPress altogether ??

I now cannot log in to WordPress at all!

Sorry to clarify, are you saying to download a fresh copy of WordPress and upload my current files, but use the fresh wp-content folder. Is that right?

Will I lose everything again and need to spend all the time again getting it back to where it was?

Ah I see now I understand why you wanted to know what actual page it was. Apologies, I don’t have a head for this technical stuff ?? Hence my constant daily battle with WP.

I have put another post somewhere about trying to get WP back, so I’ll come back to this post when it is back up, hopefully it won’t take me days to sort out again.

The problem is the same as the vertical spacing on the link I gave you. There is too much space between the lines for my liking.

Can you tell me how to shrink that gap? I presume there is some king of style command that I’ve not been able to find.

Yeah I discovered that the hard way. Unfortunately downloaded the latest version without doing any of that, found myself in grave trouble and uninstalled it completely and started all over again with the prevoius version. I made great progress until the visual editor disappeared randomly today. I began to deactivate the plugins when WP crashed entirely. How do I get it back so I can continue working? Can I reactivate the plugins through the files on my host?

Thanks Andrew ?? I wanted less space between the lines vertically, specifically to fit everything on one page. (Not the home page, a page that disappeared a few hours ago and crashed WP.)

I have a custom theme and I have been editing the style.css. Good to know about the theme upgrade, I suppose I should make a copy of the style.ss as a backup?

I have the same problem as paulberg70 – using NextGen to create my galleries but it wont insert into a page. I’m receiving an error saying the theme is missing the call to wp_head ().

I have the same problem with the published date on the home page. I’ve not used posts but pages on the home page.
