Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WP Mobile automatic upgrade installation errorSince your plugin isn’t able to properly upgrade itself (can’t put the theme folder where it belongs), perhaps it shouldn’t try, or maybe it can at least advise people WHY it isn’t properly installed, instead of telling people to view the readme. The Readme doesn’t convey that the update completely changed file and folder names.

In reply to: Schedule Posts Not Working in 2.5I’ve got two scheduled posts that still haven’t published, one was scheduled for the 15th, the other for the 20th. Both are still listed as scheduled, both show the correct times when they should have published but didn’t. My timezone info is correct, I see the proper time listed on my General settings page. Using 2.5.1.

In reply to: Timezone / post time / scheduled post issueI had a post scheduled to publish at 11am today. It’s 12:20pm, and it hasn’t posted yet, says it is scheduled to post in an hour, even though the ‘scheduled for’ time appears correct in the post, and the time is set properly in my WP settings. This is more than just annoying if someone needs a post published at a specific time!

In reply to: Reset WordPress.com StatsHas anything changed on this? I had an issue with the plugin conflicting with another (wp-postview), so all my pageviews got listed under one page. Seems there should be an option to reset your stats, or get rid of the site then re-add it to start fresh again.

In reply to: Hit counter for individual posts, displayed on front page? You can use a plugin called wp-postviews to do this (I use this on my site https://itsvista.com) but it collects it’s own pageview count, so it would start from zero on every page when you installed it, and count up from there. I’d love to see a plugin that allows you to grab pageviews from WordPress or Google Analytics.

In reply to: WordPress 2.5 and stats plugin@kmessinger Thanks for the response. I poked around, and I tracked down the problem. It’s the wp-PostViews plugin. I’m checking with the author for a fix, but I wonder if your plugin could have a better way of harvesting the page info to avoid issues like this. Google Analytics and Feedburner are collecting the correct info, only the WordPress stats are incorrect. Here’s my message to the wp-PostViews author:
I just tracked down my WordPress Stats problem to your plugin. Almost all of my pageviews are being counted under one page on WordPress Stats (making it useless). I’ve found that ‘the_permalink()’ before ‘get_most_viewed()’ shows the permalink of the current page, but after ‘get_most_viewed()’ shows the permalink of the last listed popular page, breaking any call to ‘the_permalink’ that follows your plugin. Any resolution to this?

In reply to: WordPress 2.5 and stats pluginStats only sees three pages on my blog, with the overwhelming majoring of hits all being listed as just one page. My blog is https://itsvista.com
Most hits are listed as: https://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-16-using-vista-to-zip-and-unzip-files-and-folders/
These two pages get stats that look normal:
https://itsvista.com/google-search/
https://itsvista.com/windows-vista-keyboard-shortcuts/
No other pages show up in Stats.I was using the Recent Posts plugin, I’ve disabled it and it’s library plugin, but I’m still having the same Stats problem.

In reply to: 2.5 bug: custom fieldsI’m having the same exact issue, definitely a bad bug for those of us that use custom fields alot. Help!

In reply to: WordPress 2.5 and stats pluginI’m having a similar problem. I installed the WordPress.com Stats 1.2 plugin on my site (WP 2.5) recently and it is working great with one big exception. One page in particular is getting a crazy amount of hits. Where Google Analytics says the page has 80 hits on April 2, WordPress Stats says it got 1665 hits. This isn’t just a one day thing, it’s happened every day since installing the plugin. The hit count for the entire blog is similar to what Google Analytics says, so far it appears just this page is way off (at least it’s the most obvious error). Help!

In reply to: External links pluginI like the plugin, but is their any way to limit where in your template this works? For example, I’d like it to add the icon for links in post or page content, but not in the footer, or to the ‘del.icio.us’ link at the bottom of every post.
