I was able to pinpoint a cause of the error. I briefly switched the theme from “World” to “Twenty-Fifteen” (a standard theme), and then the module functioned properly.
@mrbryan, @kris513, @osamadesign, what theme are you using? Any chance you’re using World??
@storeapps, you should be able to replicate this error if you use
Email Subscribers plugin (vers 3.1.3
WordPress 4.5.2, and
the World theme@ mrbryan Any luck with your fix?
@storeapps I am using the Dashboard/Appearance–>Widget to show the subscription box
@kris513 Do you see an error when you use a browser debugger? The biggest problem I saw is that the images were no longer sized properly for different sized screens when I left JetPack on. I turned off most the module, so you won’t see the errors on the site anymore. I’ll reach out to you over your link, and then I can re-enable the module if you want to briefly test it.
I eliminated all the plug-ins (except Email Subscriber and the World theme), cleared the cache, and tested it in Chrome. I’m still seeing an error: “(index):343 Uncaught ReferenceError: es_submit_page is not defined.” Do you have any idea what could be causing that? Thanks!
FYI, I disabled most of JetPack because it’s rendering the images in the Website in a faulty way – images are now running over text in smaller browsers/ mobile devices. I don’t know if that’s entirely due to the multiple errors I referred to, but there is likely a relationship.
