It’s been 3 months since I uninstalled your plugin, and we have had no issues since then.
Your plugin was installed for 4 weeks, and our site was hacked 4 times.
Prior to this, the site had been active for 3 years, and nothing like this had happened before.

That’s what makes me think your plugin had something to do with it.
And to clarify, I only (ever) install and trial one plugin at a time.

If this came across as a bit of a rant, so be it. I hope people are warned about it though.

We lost a substantial amount of money through the actions of the scammer/s using your software to gain access to our website.

And from what you say above, it doesn’t look like you’re even going to check it out in detail. That’s exactly the level of responsibility one would expect from a security plugin developer (not)!

I had to get the hosting people to restore it to the last backup, because I couldn’t even log in to the backend to do that myself. For about 2 months I had the WooCommerce plugin highlighted as needing an update, and then we did several major changes to the website that incidentally allowed the update to run with no problems.

I’m by no means an expert but this worked very well for me.
I installed WordFence Security which works very well as a security plugin, but has an option to speed up your site by means of an internal caching program. This plugin made my site noticeably faster about 5 minutes after installing. It has an option to speed it up 3 times as fast, which I selected and was very pleased with, or 30-50 times as fast, which I have not tried yet.
I hope this helps you, as I said I am not an expert but can only tell you what worked for me.

    Thanks for your reply Kmessinger:
You can’t see the images because of another issue I have with the site. See here for details.
I found the words I want linked: They are part of the “Splash Page Template” or “Splash.php.”
So what do I put into that page to make the text a link? would it be TEXT TO SHOW ??

    In reply to: HELP!!-

Don’t know If I’m actually going to be helping, but:

To add media, pictures, video clips, sound files etc hover your cursor over the “Media” item in the list at the left-hand side of the dashboard, and click “Add New” when it appears).
To add plugins hover over the “Plugins” item in the same list and click “Add New” when it appears.
To add themes, hover over “Appearance,” click “Themes” and click “Add New” when the page loads. This may take a while depending on how many themes you have stores there.

As I said, this may/may not help. It’s just how I go about doing the things you mentioned.

Unfortunately, if you can’t see the buttons listed above, I can’t really help. Sorry!!

Update: I have tried installing several different plugins that give the drop-down on the products page to allow the user to choose how many products per page, but no such luck. Tried them all separately of course, but the first page in the shop is still showing 1 product, the second page 1 product, and third is showing product as normal and the drop-down. The drop-down doesn’t show up before the 3rd page, I’ve checked.

Anybody have even a possible solution?

And no the theme I’m using isn’t a WooThemes theme, it’s a custom one that would be nearly impossible to replicate on a standard theme.

    Hello Esmi,
After 2 months there should normally have been some sort of response, because I would like to mark this one off as resolved. Can you please re-check and see if you have filed an answer away somewhere?

Just noticed that the plugin doesn’t allow caching (to make the site faster) and security at the same time. To do a security scan or see who’s on your site, you have to disable caching.
It still gets my 5 stars but!!

This issue has not been resolved but if I answer a question and don’t get a reply for over 1 month, it’s probably not considered important enough for a reply.
Maybe I offended Ipstenu (Mika Epstein) by using such a short answer to his question. This could have been taken as offensive, in which case I truly am sorry.
But I would have appreciated a response in any case.

    Thanks speedito, for your response.
I don’t think we have any special rendering techniques for different sized screens; it’s probably the default. The theme we use is a heavily-customised version of twenty-eleven, called something else.
As far as caching goes, we have wp-super-cache installed but I don’t think that’s what is causing the problems.

Where will I find the code that determines how the site shows on mobile devices, and how should I change it to not be (as) responsive?

I would be trying to avoid redesigning the site if possible… as I said it is very heavily customised and features 2 separate menus. I would have no idea how to replicate this on a new theme…

    Yes.

We’re using a child theme based on twenty eleven, called “airquip.” The web developer set it up for us (mostly) but has since closed down.

I just uninstalled Jotform after finding the default WordPress feedback form: it doesn’t come as a popup, which I would have liked, but otherwise it seems to be as functional if not more so than JotForm. Sorry to all those waiting for an answer!
If the person at JotForm emails back, I’ll try to post it here.

Fixed: in the JotForm settings, click the magnifying glass next to the “Form ID” field, then sign up for a free JotForm account. Then you can create your field, but the problem I now have is that you can’t seem to make small changes to a form you have set into your website; you have to go right back and create another, and I haven’t worked out how yet.
On the other hand, son after I had logged an account with JotForm, an email came from them saying welcome and all that, but it wasn’t just an automated response. There was actually a person there emailing back. That’s good service!!
So I’m emailing back for an answer to my questions above, will post back shortly (but forum rules say I should post it in a new post… will link to it soon).
