In reply to: [Ultimate WP Query Search Filter] Filtering existing queryThanks for your quick reply, that’s what I did yesterday, and it’s working like a charm.
Wouldn’t it be possible to manage this via a plugin option?
Awesome work, thanks for this nice plugin!

In reply to: [Ultimate WP Query Search Filter] Filtering existing queryI think what he means is the possibility to filter an existing query, and/or to limit a search to a specific category.
For example, if I visit a category named “cars”, WP will show me a list of all the posts belonging to this “car” category.
Now, let’s say I’ve created the a ‘brand’ taxonomy, and I’m using it as a filter in a custom search form (available on my “cars” category).
If I select the brand “Volkswagen”, I will get a list of ALL the posts tagged with this term across the entire website. What he wants is ONLY to retrieve posts tagged as “volkswagen” IN the “cars” category.
In the same way, he’d like to be able to filter a search result (generated using core WP search) with your plugin ??
Yes, you can use custom variables in the permalinks field. Idea is to create a custom variable, and then register & hook it using existing WP rewrite class:
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Class_Reference/WP_RewriteI’ve seen people explaining how to do this for categories, but nobody for tags (certainly because by default WP doesn’t have an option to categorize tags).
Anyway it’s the exact same system (terms) so I guess it’s possible, I just have no idea of how doing it.
Thanks for your quick reply!!
