This is my first attempt at launching a site. My goal is to create a simple single page site that allows students to submit their name and date in order for me to monitor attendance at a variety of events. I was told that BlueHost is the best option. But it would be great if I could avoid paying fees by using WordPress. However, I am worried that WordPress might not be sufficient for retrieving data from the site and storing that data in a local database on my machine. I am hoping someone might be able to give me some direction.
