I’m terribly sorry this has taken so long to respond to. For some weird, yet determined reason, I’m not receiving email notifications when support tickets are created. I’ll reach out to the plugin reps on that.

The multiple calls to the cachebuster function in autoptimize should obviously only happen once when you activate the plugin. I’ll definitely work on reproducing this to see what needs to be done to resolve it. I’ll also reach out to Pantheon just in case there’s something happening specific to their system.

If you can provide any other details, please let me know. I have a few clients on Pantheon running this plugin without error, but that’s certainly doesn’t mean much.

If possible, can you list plugins and name active theme on your site? It may help me isolate the issue.

    Best regards,

    John

The plugin doesn’t currently get triggered by CRON. It when a page is visited it checks the current size of the Autoptimize cache folder and diffs it against the selected max size value saved in Autoptimize Clear Cache settings. I do have CRON triggers on a list of updates. I should have an updated plugin tested and released in about two weeks.

I’ll be adding additional sizes in the next release version very soon.

The plugin automatically clears cache on the first option saved in settings. So if you save it to 128 MB after activating the plugin, it will clear any cache at that point and start rebuilding until it’s triggered to empty again when it exceeds 128 MB.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your input and suggestions.

Hi – sorry for the delay. For some reason I’ve not gotten email notices when new issues are opened. I’m looking into that.

It should work fine with multisite if Autoptimize is that each site can have it’s own settings page and when this plugin triggers a cache purge it should only impact that specific site.

Please let me know if that’s not the case, if you need further assistance.

I’ll look into this further. It sounds like it’s a plugin conflict, but I’ll try and reproduce the issue to isolate a cause, and report back. Thanks for letting me know.

You would need to modify the available select field options to make that work. I’ll look into adding adding a field that allows more granular control.

The first time activate the Autoclear plugin, clear your WP Supercache cache. That should prevent your site trying to load an older cached version of the pages. We have 20+ clients and our own site uses autoclear with WP Supercache without any issue. But clearing object cache is always a good idea if you add or remove plugin that effect page or object cache. Please let me know if that helps or you have questions.

Hi @mapo85 – No worries on delay. Thanks for responding. I want to make sure users have a good experience with the plugin.

It looks like an issue with site pages being cached using another caching plugin, source (like aggressive server side caching by a hosting provider), or possibly a CDN. Do you have another caching plugin, service, or CDNin use for the site?

If so, when Autoptimize cache gets cleared, your site pages may be using a old cached version that is still looking for the older version of the Autoptimize file that gets loaded into your site pages, which can break styles in your pages like the image you sent. Usually this is not a problem because Autoclear performs a page refresh which recreates a new build of Autoptimize cache.

Once trick to try to verify this is to open the open a browser window or tab in Incognito or private browsing mode. If the page displays normally, than it’s working correctly, but your site is trying to serve a stale cached page. Clearing your browser cache will solve that. In edge cases like this, the plugin may not benefit you without adjusting other cache settings.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I can help with this. I’d be happy to assist if I can.

Since there’s been no follow up, and no other similar complaints have been reported, I’m going to close the issue as not able to reproduce. If you’d like additional support please let me know.

Hi Nur. I’ll let Frank answer your questions about possible causes. But I released a plugin a few weeks ago that automatically clears your AO cache if it grows larger than the amount you choose in my plugins settings. I use it on my client sites and my own. You can check it out at

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/autoclear-autoptimize-cache/

    Hope it’s helpful.

Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry there was a problem with the plugin, and I want to help fix that. Can you provide more details? What exactly happens when you install then activate the plugin? Is there an error message? Other symptoms? Is Autoptimize installed and activated? Any details would help me try to duplicate the problem and solve it if there is one. Thanks again.
