Thanks Edward. Before I pay someone to do the slicing, can I expect the theme to completely transfer? And how would that work for editing the various elements (background image etc.). I usually rely on the easy-to-edit interfaces of wordpress themes. Would all changes have to be made in a ‘back end’ sort of way? i.e. Would I be hiring someone to make every change to the site?

I should add that I tried uploading the theme .zip into wordpress and I keep getting errors that the stylesheet is missing. I tried opening the .zip to see if there is an internal folder that is ‘the theme folder’ to then zip and upload, but there isn’t – just the theme files.

Ryan – i have not modified the main.js or any of the theme’s code.

I tried your suggestion – backing up the current main.js and uploading a fresh copy. Still getting the same error.

thanks Ryan – I entered the SCRIPT_DEBUG code in the wp-config file as suggested, but the issue persists.

i don’t think the site has ever worked while i’ve been logged out of dashboard.

the error does not appear in the firebug console when i’m logged in. strange.

oh, and I already know about altering code within a child theme only.

thanks Andrew. i notice the screenshot you posted is of my front page, as opposed to the other pages (where i’m having the issue). do you know if the div#page tag applicable in that case as well?

also, i’m new to firebug and though that may be all you can help with, it’s a big help because i am likely missing something.

I see, though, that if I put an actual url in the a href tag, that website loads into the window, but the menu disappears. How do I keep the menu visible?
