I found a solution and want to share it here.

It appears that the graphical (3G) cell phones were unable to access my site. I learned about a plugin, WPTouch, (https://www.bravenewcode.com/products/wptouch/), installed it and it seems to work! A friend tested it on his Blackberry Storm and all is well. Here’s hoping it works on the iPhone too.

    Hi Esmi!

Thank you for your help! You’re awesome. Tell me please … how does one know which plugin is the problematic one? I think it was Super Cache. Will it now behave or must I keep it deactivated until a newer version is released?

Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it.

Wow! Thank you both for responding to my Help plea. I appreciate it.

I think Super Cache was the problem. I disabled it and other plugins and the posts were then published. I received the email notice which is how I know they were.

Not sure about the Home page update though. The published date still shows 2008 although I’ve updated that page numerous times. I still don’t have access to the Publish button after I click update.

I also wonder … as I reinstall plugins … how will I know which one caused the problem? Do I reactivate Super Cache or not? Thank you for walking me through the details. I greatly appreciate it.

Wow. I just saw this response. You guys so ROCK! Thankfully my host fixed it, but I now understand what happened. Thank you!

Dear Nice Supportive People: Thank you all. However, permit me to correct a couple of inaccurate assumptions.

First, I’m a she, not a he. Second, I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m working hard to learn and know more.

Whistler2020, I would love to try taking the images out … if only I knew how.

kmessinger, I did the Markup Validation Service. I was pretty much stopped in my tracks when it returned *This page is NOT Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional!* and spanked me like a naughty girl for being presumptuous enough to submit my inferior work to their evaluation site. Maybe I misunderstood …

drewactual, I so appreciate you helping me. Unfortunately the sheer magnitude of my coding ignorance rendered your advice a big fat whoosh. It went completely over my head.

I need to get this issue resolved! I need my site to show on IE7. If you have any advice for the slightly code-retarded, please share it. If not, I hope you found this amusing. Thanks everyone!

    Regards,
    Judith
