Thanks so much for your help! So I tried all the plugins, and that wasn’t it. I switched the theme, and you were right, it fixed it all.

The question is, what do I do now? Would you recommend that I contact the person who made the theme and see what they can suggest?

thanks so much for responding! I did not recently install a new plugin, however I recently updated my plugins, could that be it?

I’m also having trouble with alignment. No matter what I do, all my buttons line up vertically, when I want them to spread out horizontally. Anyone have an idea?

So my problem is that I want my “latest posts” to be posted to a static page, so that I can change the template of the page to include a slideshow of my posts, followed by the actual blog feed, (just like the theme demo https://demo.blankcanvas.eu/home/?themedemo=matisse). However, WordPress doesn’t want to let me put my posts on a static page.

How are people making this work?

Sorry, how do I change the permissions? From the wp-content, which folder do I choose: gallery, plugins, themes, uploads?

Thanks for getting back to me! I tried making those folders, and it didn’t work. It deletes them as soon as I try the upgrade. Sigh. I think I will have to find someone to do the manual upgrade for me, since I really have no idea how to. But thanks so much!
