So in my case, I only had a few images locked among a large collection of images. Yet, the plugin still made the entire media library unusable. When I say media library I’m not just talking about when making posts, but also the media library page also doesn’t load any of the images (just in case I wasn’t clear about that). Is that also a normal effect?

And I know you said it affects images that are large, but I also had small-sized images that wouldn’t load. They were not locked either.

Before posting this issue, I also tried clearing my cache/cookies history to see if that also played into it, but it didn’t do much. It let me open the library once (with some of the images loading). I also tried in with three browsers, Firefox, Chrome, and Edge with similar results. With Firefox, for a limited time, I could access image thumbnails if I date-filtered.

Yes, the image locking feature was on. I had a few images I had locked (no longer now). I turned it off to see if that was the issue, and it was.

I don’t have images to lock currently so I’ll just have it off for now.
