In your WordPress control panel, under Settings > General, does the URL has ‘www’ in it? If no, please include the ‘www’.

Later in Cpanel, you can setup a redirect from https://mydomain.com to https://www.mydomain.com

May I suggest looking if your theme has its own setting page. There might be an option which you can set.

I believed you would like point your domain to your old site which is currently hosted somewhere else other than GoDaddy, while you work on your new site at a subdomain level.

You can setup a gmail account and enter the account details into the plugin. It will use gmail as the mail server to send out your emails.

Your host is probably blocking the normal php mail function. Therefore you can to configure such that WordPress sends out e-mail through SMTP.

Yes it is hidden even in FTP mode. You can only see it if you have login detail for SSH.

So you are also able to set the permalink back to default? It yes, then your plugin files probably do not have permission to edit the .htaccess file since the htaccess file resides at a higher directory level compare to the plugin.
