Hello, I followed your instructions but it still caches the page. I get

Object Caching 364/586 objects using redis
Page Caching using redis (Requested method is POST)
Minified using redis

Any thoughts on why this is happening? Does it need regex format?

Hey, I meant to circle back on this. For me, I can move the cursor endlessly inside the same container (table, div) and it doesn’t trigger. But as soon as I move the cursor outside that container, or move the mouse wheel, it triggers. I don’t know why it does this, I am just mentioning it so you’re aware, in case it gives you an idea what may be happening in some themes. Still, great plugin. Thank you.

Thanks so much Gijo. You were right, W3TC was set to not cache pages with query string, and it was causing issues. I set it to cache them and everything is fixed.

I’d like to make a few suggestions, if you’d care to read some feedback and ideas that you can consider for future development:

– add preload attribute to the Featured Image (I currently use a separate plugin for this)
– delay specific CSS files. There is a separate plugin or this, but it ties into performance and would be a great addition to W3TC
– delay specific javascript files. Obviously Flying Scripts does this, but it would be nice to see it integrated in W3TC

Thank you for your response and after some testing here’s what I have found:

Under Browser Cache, turning “remove query strings” on or off makes no difference.

Under Page Cache, if “cache pages with query strings” is turned on, it finally works. But I feel that’s maybe an inelegant solution to cache the same page with various query strings separately as if it’s different pages. Do you agree?

The majority of my traffic has a query string, like ?utm_source=something

I didn’t have the option turned on before, does that mean the pages weren’t being served from cache?

Now that we’ve identified the problem a little bit better, is there a better solution you can suggest? Can the query string be ignored?

Yes, the issue persists if I disable the individual settings. But if I deactivate the W3TC plugin, the problem goes away, and Flying Scripts works fine.

Yes exactly. Funny thing is, it works if I enable Flying Scripts BEFORE I enable W3TC. I don’t know what the issue is, but it’s working now. Thanks for your help. Great job with W3TC, best cache plugin, love the extensive options.

I am not the developer, but I had this exact same problem. Use adsbygoogle.js and see if that fixes it, that did it for me. adsbygoogle is used as a keyword in other places, as variable name, etc, and I think that messes with it. Good luck.

I just wanted to post the solution to help you learn more about potential issues, and to help others.

I disabled the W3TC plugin and clicked Regenerate All, and I got a 504 error. This was some progress at least. I re-enabled W3TC, and clicked Regenerate All again, and this time…it just worked. So it looks like W3TC was screwing up the REST API path somehow. You might want to warn users or provide instructions on how to exclude it in W3TC. (Note: I also have the Cloudflare APO plugin enabled.)

Plugin is converting about 1,000 images per minute. I have around 2 million images total. So far it has converted 40,000 images with no problem and it’s still going. Average size savings is 36%.

Quick question: My jpg files are not really optimized in any way. Should jpg files be COMPRESSED before being converted to webp? Would that result in more savings?
