Problem solved! After I uploaded the “includes” folder again, I was able to access the dashboard once again. Have no idea what happened, what had been modified in the old includes folder, but I’m just glad it’s fixed, at least for now.

Yes, you were right, it was a plugin, deactivated it and everything orks fine.

Yeah I suppose it would be a solution, only problem is I don’t a thing about Linux operating system, almost permalinks don’t work either though…although I implemented the two lines of code specified, just in case I have IIS 6…I don’t know what to do anymore…I’ve almost given up.

It’s IIS, I can’t find out right now but as I read in the documentation that php.ini file should solve the problems even it were IIS 6, and there’s still the weird fact that my home page is working

Thank you for your advice HandySolo, but it didn’t fully resolve my problem. Turns out even the almost pretty permalinks didn’t work so I uploaded a php.ini file to my webroot as instructed in the documentation. Now the homepage opens but when I click on a post or page it still gives me 404 error…any ideas, please?

So having ugly permalinks is bad for my blog’s traffic? I’ve tried to change them to pretty ones but I didn’t succeed. I did everything they said in the documentation…3 times even but I couldn’t do it. I even started a support toppic about it.

I’ve contacted my hosting service, and they said URL rewrote isn’t possible because I have hosting for Windows and that feature is only available for Linux hosting packages.

BUT I know somebody who has the same hosting service and his permalinks work just fine. Unfortunately for personal reasons I can’t ask him for advice
I’m really depressed, my pages look hideous.
Do they affect traffic these ugly permalinks, or is the change to pretty ones just recommended for esthetic purposes?

Thank everyone for all explanations, I really hope you’re right and there’s really nothing wrong…only thing I’m still worried about is I can’t even find my home URL in a search, it’s not that it appears further down the pages , it simply doesn’t appear.
