Yes it is possible but some of the recommended steps for content audit relies on traffic to work properly. In the case of GA being disabled, these recommendations will be missing.

Just add this line to the functions.php file of your theme:

define( 'AHREFS_SEO_NO_GA', true );

That will disable the GA requirements.

You don’t have to be a paying customer to get full access to the content audit. During the Ahrefs authorisation step of the setup wizard, just select the option: “I’m new to Ahrefs” and you will be able to get a token. You can also access this step in the settings.

Please note that this token can only be used for your site as it’s tied to your site domain.

If you’re a free user, the token actually expires in a couple of days so you will have to re-authorize the connection. As for the captcha, it is designed to prevent too many clicks over a short period of time.

Unfortunately, we had to implement these measures to prevent abuse of our API, which contains lots valuable data that we’ve spent quite a bit of resources gathering.

The best way forward is to sign up as a user if you find the data useful or if you wish to continue as a free user, to wait a couple of days before re-authorizing your site.

Thanks for your feedback. As I’ve mentioned over our messages on Facebook – this was due to a connection issue with Google that causes erroneous data to be retrieved from Google Analytics.

We’ve just resolved this in the latest update, v0.7. Hopefully you can try it out and I look forward to hearing about your experience.
