have you tried a different theme to confirm where the issue is ?

first thing to try is resave your permalinks settings..

ok thanks for the update, yep the NSUR plug-in uses the default WordPress registration / login method.

it looks like you have some redirecting to authenticate with Microsoft going on, you could disable that temporarily to see if it helps you. Another thought is to flush your permalinks by saving that under your settings for the main site

Unfortunately that is how WordPress Networks work (multi-site) has one user common database across all sites and Networks (if a multi-Network) installation.

I see registration is currently disabled on the site.
if you haven’t already you can trial the registration experience by registering at ..

you can then see if the experience is the same as your site.

Hi, they are different and unique from each other in terms of subsites. However when you have a WordPress Network (multi-site) then the common part is that each of the subsites will be under one user/email Network account. This is the reason that you see that error, there isn’t anything that can be done for that as its all part of the default WordPress.

..”/subsite/local-signup/” right now is a fixed and a hard coded link in the plugin. A few others, like yourself, have requested to have this customizable via hooks.

If a enough want this then it could be added and put on the list for future additions.

these details are only username and email

“they’re being redirected to /subsite/local-signup/ and have to re-enter their credentials there to sign up.”

they are not re-entering the password, they are entering that for the first time as they were given one after the account activation email request.

/subsite/local-signup/

this redirection is for them to sign in and activate on the multi-site Network level, which is required for default WP on a Network. they then get rediverted back to their subsite.

hi if you have registration allowed/enabled on the y.mainsite.com site too, then you can’t stop it as you are allowing them to have an account there too. You should be able to have user registration enabled on x.mainsite.com but disabled on y.mainsite.com and it stop the login on the second site.

There no reason why not, I’ve never tested. But if you can get a plugin for Captcha working with WP without NSUR then it should also work with NSRU active as we are using all the standard hooks and filters that WP uses.
All I can suggest is – give it a go and let us all know ??
