You can see that we set something similar up on a sister site https://redriverstainless.com/product/channel/ but it’s not quite the same as the example in the first post. The owner would really like to make it match the example in the first post. Especially just having one submit button for all of the variations.

What theme are you using? One feature plugin I have seen has a url field below the content editor to set the link for the feature. Your theme may or may not have something similar.

It is a static front page. I considered registering a new menu location just for this page. That is what I have done for three other sections on this site. But I did that a couple of months ago and now that I am going back to edit it I just thought maybe there was a quick way to change the menu this is displayed in a location without having to create a specific location.

@dianeb I had the problem come up several times before I figured out which plugin it was. I disabled all of them and got things running again and then had the issue come up again later in the same day. This happened three of four times. So I’m thinking if you had it happen once then it will probably pop up again soon if you leave Better WP activated.

If it’s not a huge site then my favorite free plugin is Duplicator. I use it when I migrate sites from one server to another.

I don’t think that there is much you can do if you don’t have access. When I move sites I usually either do cpanel backup and restore or use the Duplicator plugin. Cpanel is nice but some hosts don’t allow you access to backup/restore with it. But you can’t migrate a WP site without the database content.

How did you move it?

If you only want to remove stuff then you could use css display: none; so that those elements don’t show up on that page. For example to remove the top menu from the testing page. Get the page id number by hovering your mouse over that page in the backend. If you look at the url it will include something like post=1440 that number is the page id.
Then add this line to your css

.page-id-1440 #access {
display: none;
}

replace 1440 with whatever your page number is. Using Firebug I was able to see that #access is your menu btw.

All your posts and pages do this, but your backend is working fine?

My company uses the Woo Ninja plugin. It allows you to pick which pages you want a widget to display on. There are other plugins such as the one mentioned above or Restrict Widgets. I’m sure there are others as well.

You just get one page saying that?

Hostgator moved data centers last fall and our sites went totally down twice over a couple of weeks and then they suspended our account because of a very popular seo plugin we were using that they thought was using to many resources. I heard they had been bought out by another company. We moved about 160 sites with maybe 50% being WordPress and we did it in a day. Just moving one site is quite easy. I can do it in under 15 minutes.

You can pick any page to be your homepage. Go to the settings like shandiz said and you will see a dropdown list with all the pages you have and you can pick one.

So what does Hostgator tell you when you talk to them? Is this an issue with your site or with Hostgator? My company has quit using Hostgator due to their recent instability.
