In reply to: [Team Rosters] Single Player Issue with ThemeCanon SportYup, that does seem to be the problem. I found what I thought was the correct footer element and added the rule – my player info showed up correctly, but my footer disappeared. But I think I’m at least in the ballpark now.
I like to try to figure things out on my own so I can learn (even though it may take me awhile!) so I’ll keep poking around for a few days to try to fix it but may have to go for Gold Support if I can’t.
Thanks for getting me pointed in a direction. I’ll report back if I figure anything out.

In reply to: [Team Rosters] Single Player Issue with ThemeCanon SportYes, that was just my example link – not the real one. Sorry for the confusion. ??
Here’s a real one – https://thebatcompany.com/player/joey-miller/?roster_type=custom

In reply to: Single to MultiSite QuestionsYeah I’m not comfortable at all in the database. Export/Import seems ok I think.
One last question then I’ll make a decision. ?? Could I not just install a second single instance of WordPress on my site and just run two installations and not mess around with the multisite network? So I leave my current site alone and then install a second database (my host allows multiple databaes) and second instance of WordPress? Better or worse (or equal) option?

In reply to: Single to MultiSite QuestionsI don’t really want to move it to the root because I do have other things there. I really want the Web site home page to be one thing and the blog to be seperate.
Assuming I leave it as is and my current “private” blog becomes the main blog, and I create a second “public” blog, how difficult would it be to switch those around. Could it be done and what would it entail? Did I understand correctly that if the “private” blog was switch to not be the main one I could still block search engines to it, but not to my new main public one?
And yes, I do have the search engines blocked. It’s not that I want it “locked down and no you can’t get in!” but just don’t care to have it out there easily accessible to the world.
If I did this and decided that I didn’t like it, does reverting back to a single instance just involve removing the code or would be a hard process?
Thanks so much for your help!!!

In reply to: Database Error – data too long for columnChanging from latin1_swedish_ci to utf8_general_ci solved the issue for me.

In reply to: Database Error – data too long for columnI am also having this problem.
I thought I had fixed by the deactivating all plugins and then reactivating, but apparently not. It worked on one of my test posts, but not on another.

In reply to: Cannot Access Plugin Directory – Automatically changed directoryNevermind. I just messed up uploading the plugins I was trying and didn’t realize they were two levels deep. I believe this is resolved. I believe I did have a problem before the re-install but it is now fixed and its good to know the directory is correct.
Thanks!

In reply to: Cannot Access Plugin Directory – Automatically changed directoryWell then maybe that isn’t the exact problem. I have manually used FTP to upload my plugins into wp-content/plugins and they show up there but they do not show up in the WordPress plugin area. All I see is Akismet and Hello Dolly.
I have uploaded a theme the same way I do plugins and it works fine.
Any other ideas on why uploaded plugins wouldn’t show up???
