    @rohit,

For some reason I didn’t get the message you replied. And I didn’t check anymore after so much time had passed…

    Two questions:
I have no idea to whom your colleague is talking now since someone else posted on my thread with their own question about updates and muddying the thread. If she’s talking to me: this happened over half a year ago, so I really do not know what date it was anymore. Also admin going blank is no longer the issue. Your newer versions no longer do that…at least: let’s hope the *newest* does not either. Is this still necessary info? Can *you* remember which day you rolled out that particular update? Because that is the date my admin and website went blank.

I am willing to update the plugin now (as in this weekend, can’t now in case something goes wrong), since I feel very uncomfortable leaving plugins un-updated. But before I do I need to know if I can roll back to the version that is still sort of-working right now.
I kept on updating the theme file by the way, and I never tweak anything. I work with a Child theme and at the moment would not even know how to tweak anything in there anymore (even though I want to).

No, it is not. Of the issues I had before only the white screen of death was fixed after a few updates, but I still don’t have:
    1. a Wrap Up: NO Grade bars in the wrap up, no total grade on the picture, no pictures showing, no cons/pre’s/Affiliate links.
I see an orange bar and then ARRAY ARRAY.

    2. I also still don’t have grades showing on the home page and the pictures for every book etc.

    3. And while for a few weeks at least the Top 10 (or 5 whatever) Widgets on my sidebar worked (not perfectly, initially it didn’t pick up on new reviews and once it did it meant I have to show all that weird stuff above. But, I had at least something). Now, with the latest update something is wrong again cause a few of my pictures show enormously!

I’ve rolled back to the previous edition, but I no longer know what to do. My reviews only show half of the info I’ve put into them ?? and worse: it looks weird.

I am not getting any replies unfortunately, but even though you guys are already at 3.08 (which luckily does not post the white screen of death-danger anymore) the plugin and theme still do not work together properly.

Grades are not showing on the books & other product-pictures on the homepage carrousel, the widget for Top Products had to be deleted and reinstalled on the sidebar several times because it isn’t showing the real top reviewed ones.
The Wrap up does not show a grade, nor does it have any colored bars in the 5 things that are graded and in my latest review the wrap up shows almost nothing!
You see an alone standing picture, an orange colored bar that should show the word Buy or Amazon and then you see a complete white table with ARRAY| ARRAY. Nothing of my pro-c0n list, nothing of my grades. This looks ridiculous!

In Github it still says “OPEN”. Does this mean you are aware of these problems, still and trying to fix it?

And just so you know: version 3.0.5…still the same issue.

As soon as I have updated and activate the Product Review Plugin I get the so-called white screen of death and I have to circumvent regular login on my hosting account to get to my website again.

I am sorry to say that I am still experiencing the exact same problem. After I read your message I updated to the latest version, activated the plugin again and immediately was thrown out of my own wp-admin. Also: a complete white screen when trying to look at my website (regardless of browser) and no visibility for others as well. Luckily I now know how to deactivate the plugin via FTP, so I can get back in and keep my website online, but I can tell you that the problem isn’t fixed and I am still missing several functionalities on the website now :(.

I’ve installed the latest version of Bookrev Lite Theme (child theme) in combination with Product Review Lite 3.04.
    No other plugin causes this.

Thank you for updating me. Would you advise me to keep the plugin deactivated in the meantime, as I have done currently to keep the white screen from happening, and update to the newest version as soon as the compatibility is fixed?

    Thread Starter kalopaidi

    (@kalopaidi)

WP_DEBUG was already disabled, no result if I deactivate the plugins.
Safari and Chrome keep showing a multitude of warnings and Firefox only shows the short code.

    (@kalopaidi)

First part is fixed, but problem with your plugin remains. I am going to make new post to make things clearer.

    Hi Brecht,

What if they haven’t changed permissions? (They say they haven’t).

Will the disabling (have to figure out how to do that) just get rid of the warnings, or will I be image-less? I used the plugin in about 90% of the 100+ articles I have written, so that is going to be rather painful…

    Hi all,

Just checking, cause I have been getting the same warning today for one file since the update of Wordfence.
Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-admin/LOG_FILE

Just to be sure: I should do nothing?
Or should I contact my hosting provider to ask them if there is anything to worry about?

I’d rather not have to contact them every day/week or worry about things that are not problematic, so I would love to know how to proceed. Bit if a newbie with all this still and someone else installed my website for me on the server. Thanks for any advice offered.

    1. Thank you. I will check it and see if it makes any sense to me. It seems to have some coding on differences in screens. Great!

    2. I am not talking about the loading time of the site itself (although 2.5 seconds for the money I invested in making it quicker is quite a disappointment to be honest. No wonder Pagespeed is still in the red for me). If I enter my url there’s nothing wrong.

The problem is with the Dashboard and its options. It *absolutely* can’t be my internet speed because all my internet pages from all other sites load extremely fast. I have 150Mbit. Again: my admin panel is the issue here, so when I am actually working with the site, not what others see. This was never a problem *until the update*. A few weeks ago everything opened within a second. Now it is so excruciatingly slow I want to throw my laptop out of the window. It is hardly workable anymore. This can’t be my internet speed, because A. I haven’t changed packages. B. Then it should always have been a problem and C. In that case it should occur in many more places. But my other site is lightening fast (also WordPress, so there I agree with you), all other sites I use are lightning fast, I can download stuff within seconds. Anyway, it only occurs in my *admin panel for Bookrev*. Which means it must be something with the theme, sorry.

    Hi Suyogya,

    1. It is impossible to have a logo that small with the name attached that is also readable. I had several designers look at it. I even had two logo-designers create something (costs money of course) and the first in that size became so small it was unusable. This actual logo (the seal) is barely readable as is, but at least you see the name of the site. I need a true logo to be recognizable. When I first had nothing there or the very small thing, I did a test for user friendliness and all of the users complained there was no visible logo, so no branding, no link to other outlets, thus no idea on what site they were, etc. Logo dimensions of 148×43 are therefore useless. You can only use one small word.

Is there a possibility to have just the seal in those dimensions showing when someone goes online on mobile or pad? That I could put that in the coding? Or perhaps if I make a smaller version of this logo and I give the command to show this when opening in iPad/cellphone? I would not know how to do that, but it might solve the issue. I don’t have the money for designer nr 3…but the ones I asked for advice all say the same: for an actual logo these dimensions are way too small.

    2. The webdesigner I hired, to make the site faster, tested several themes on both urls to see if it was the server. He also shut off each and every one of the plugins…that did not help either. Sure, there are plugins that make something slower (like Wordfence, but too important to shut off) on the outside, but the back end (my dashboard/admin panel) was always quite fast, until the last update. All other themes works fast everywhere, except for the Bookrev :(. And he can’t figure out why (he no longer works for me now. My budget isn’t endless). It took me 40 seconds to log-in this time and 15 seconds to open one of my articles. When I posted last weekend it sometimes took the same amount to update an article after some changes.

I truly hope you’ll find why.

Okay people can ignore my previous post. The snippet you see on top has actually the function of meta description now. If you edit that you will no longer get a warning that you don’t have a meta description! And the box is not needed.
So: everyone missing the meta description: edit the snippet! If you hover your mouse over it, you see it light up and on the right a little pencil. Click and edit and voila! A meta description.

I do have to say that it still does not function properly, despite clearing cache. For example with one post I get the message:
-The page title contains the focus keyword, but it does not appear at the beginning; try and move it to the beginning.
The focus keyword is actually the first word in this post, sigh… Also: These are mini-reviews of max 100 words linked to a video which means that warning will always be red and I’ll never get a green SEO stoplight. Not sure if I can specifically change that for a category.

I just updated the Yoast SEO plugin and now also no longer have the meta description box. Which makes sure all my new posts stay ‘orange’ with the warning: you have no meta description text…yes, I knew that!
I’ve tried the various solutions here and added the code to my child theme, but this didn’t resolve it (so deleted it again to keep my theme clean) and for some reason my Dashboard does not support me to add code in the functions.php of the plugin (which I prefer: I get Method not Implemented).

So, what to do now? Delete, reinstall so I get back to the older version, or doesn’t that work either? Or does anyone know another solution? I could use rich snippet, but now I will never know if my SEO is actually decent since there’s no meta description editor anymore. And excerpt is really different, that shows on my front/blog.
