In reply to: How to undo redirect?Bluehost is my host.
I tried out the various suggestions from https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Enable_Sending_Referrers and none worked. I tried turning off various firewalls, deleting cookies, clearing the cache, etc. and nothing worked. I made the changes in both IE and FF, and nothing worked. I tried making the changes on a different computer as well, and it didn’t work. I looked all over these forums, on Yahoo, and on Google trying to find out more about the “Enable sending referrers” message. Couldn’t find anything different.
I resorted to my last option, which was to delete the whole Trailers subdirectory (i.e., delete the blog), reinstall it and start over.
Everything is ok now, but I still can’t understand why none of the methods I tried made any difference.

In reply to: How to undo redirect?Ok, I’ve figured out how to log in to the wordpress in my subdirectory (Trailers), but when I try to edit the “WordPress Address” section under General Options back to the way it was, it takes me to a page that says I have to enable referrers. I’ve made the necessary changes to both Firefox and IE that was described in the instructions, but nothing worked. I still get that “enable referrers” message.

In reply to: How to undo redirect?Er, I don’t know what phpmyadmin is, but I had made my mistake while I was logged in to https://noface4film.com/trailers/wp-admin/.
Under “General Options”, “WordPress Address” I mistakenly edited it to noface4film.com instead of noface4film.com/trailers. Now if I try to log in to https://noface4film.com/trailers/wp-admin/, I am taken to the noface4film.com dashboard instead.

In reply to: ads within iframes don’t work with wordpress?I cleared the cache many times and the ads still don’t show up. I don’t know what you mean though, by nulling out the ad sites in a host file.

In reply to: ads within iframes don’t work with wordpress? To recap:
iframe-based ads don’t show up when I view my blog on my computer, regardless of which browser (IE and FF) I use. It looks perfectly fine on my boyfriend’s computer, and as far as I know his IE and FF have the same settings.
I tried going on the Mozilla forums to find the answer. When I couldn’t find it, I posted this same question but no one has replied. This is really confusing. Please help.

In reply to: ads within iframes don’t work with wordpress?Hi everyone,
I just checked my blog on a different computer. As it turns out, the ad is showing properly. Why isn’t it showing up in my computer then? At first I was thinking that it’s a Firefox setting, but when I checked my blog on my computer in IE I still don’t see it. Advice, please?

In reply to: ads within iframes don’t work with wordpress?David- I also use Firefox, and I see the small ad I put in the sidebar. I don’t see the one that I put down the page under “Previous posts”. All that shows up down there is the link to the site.
Perhaps it would be better to use a regular banner rather than an ad with iframes?

In reply to: ads within iframes don’t work with wordpress?I tried putting the code in index.php of the template, below “Previous Posts”. You can see that only the URL shows up but not the actual ad. I tried putting a smaller ad in the sidebar but it didn’t work either. I tried doing the same thing to another theme, but it didn’t work either.

In reply to: {NEW PLUGIN} Auto_LinkCool! I have a movie review blog and occasionally refer to other movies that I’ve done a review for (ex:if you liked movie X, then you’ll like movie Y) so this plugin is just what I need. Thanks for making it!

In reply to: Whats this thingie in this header?Oh, I didn’t know that K2 isn’t technically a theme. Interesting. I get what you mean now ??

In reply to: Whats this thingie in this header?I don’t get it spencer- why won’t he be able to get much help here if he uses K2? Because this version is beta? Or because this forum doesn’t deal with specific themes?

In reply to: Adopt a Newbie- PodzStepherz,
Like Spencer said, it depends on which directory you put it in. For example, type in yourdomainname.com and see if it shows up.

In reply to: Adopt a Newbie- PodzStepherz, I just signed up with Bluehost. Unfortunately they’re not at all clear in telling you how to install WordPress so I had to hunt through these archives to get an answer.
Click on the Fantastico button (the blue happy face) in your control panel and it’ll take you to a page where you can install various blog programs. Find the WordPress one and click. Click on the link that says something like “New installation” and it’ll take you to an area where you need to fill in your username and password. It’s smooth sailing from there.
