In reply to: Unable to access pages, customizer. Many errors on console.I have now uninstalled and re-installed fresh wordpress on a new database. Currently operating on the default theme with none of the site info there.
The exact same problems persist- plenty of errors in the console (see below) no access to pages, new plugins or theme customizer..

What does it mean if the errors are core components?

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Background images on individual pagesHave been playing around. It looks like one thing that is affecting it is
.site-content-contain which has the background colour set to #fff. If I change that to transparent, then the problems on that page are solved. The rest of the site, however, goes haywire. Have not been able to apply this to one page (I tried .site-content-contain.page-id-10 and .site-content-contain#page-id-10 to no avail).Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Problems with Twenty Seventeen child themeThank you Andrew Nevins!
When I put in the stylesheet copied from your post it worked like a charm! I guess there must have been extraneous information in there with an error of some sort.
The sheet was actually named style.css, I made a typo when I posted.
“You will have to create a corresponding slider category for the another language and then create a post under that category as well”
I am afraid I might need more step by step info than that. I currently have ONE slider category and the post is bilingual.
If I have two slider categories, I still need to choose ONE category for the slider in the appearance>theme options>slider settings. The info in this section does not change depending on the language, it stays the same.
I am also using polylang! But I was using wpml before and don’t recall that it worked with that either…
I think it might have to do with when you make a translation of the category it gives you a different category slug for each language?

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang not offering option to translate pageClicking on “edit” was not enough, you needed to click “update” to make the options available for 3 of the pages (the other ones appeared as expected).
Thanks for all your help!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang not offering option to translate pageI think that I have solved the problem….
It appears that if you go to the original language and edit the page, simply by pressing “update” the options to translate it will appear!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang not offering option to translate pageHere is a screen shot from when I edit the page:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qizsu97lyrguyn8/Screenshot%202016-02-16%2012.02.44.png?dl=0As you can see the flags for the other languages are there, but there is no plus sign to click on to add them. I can’t enter data in the language field either.
Is there some way to do this manually? Some reason why these pages are different from the rest?
