My client has asked me when I expect that his galleries will be fixed. Any idea?
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve enabled debugging and saved the changes.
This has happened to several of my sites too. Investigating now. I’ll report what I find out if you do too :]

In reply to: [Postman SMTP Mailer/Email Log] wp-mail conflictHi Nadia,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I had read the support request on this page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-not-working-declared-by-another-plugin?replies=20
about the wp-mail conflict and followed the directions re: finding that text in another plug-in, suggesting that that plugin might be conflicting. I don’t think it actually has to do with EML having anything to do with wp-mail, but pluggable.php is loaded before postman as per the following from that support thread:
“pluggable.php has a function called wp_mail. When Postman loads first, as it should, Postman’s wp_mail is used and pluggable.php’s wp_mail is skipped. But, if Postman is not installed, pluggable.php’s wp_mail is used. Your problem is that pluggable.php is loaded before Postman. This is incorrect. It means something is messing with the WordPress bootstrap, and could cause other problems like weird bugs or security holes. Plugins/themes are not supposed to directly call core files. That’s what the API is for.”I do know that when I disable EML pro, the error message goes away.
Again, thanks for your (surprising) attention to this problem.
I’m sorry. It was the same complex set of calendars that I reverted (am still reverting) back to gcal events. I will have time to deal better with all this this weekend.
And yes I want it to look more like the responsive view.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.The calendar that’s been giving me fits is a grouped calendar – for the grouped calendar I had set ITS time zone to custom. However I just set all the COMPONENT calendars’ time zones to custom and now it seems to be working okay!!!
I don’t know if that’s going to work on the other site as most of those were individual calendars so I would have set them individually…
Right now I don’t have the time to switch the more complex site back over, with the risk of having to change it back again. I’ll have more time this weekend.

In reply to: [Translate Wordpress with GTranslate] nothing good for freeWhile your comment may be legitimate, I would like to point out that plugin developers are just trying to earn a living. How do you propose that they pay their rent and food and utilities bills with free plugins? Personally, when I find a plugin that works I am happy to scrape up the cash – or charge my client – to pay the developer – that way they can keep developing.
Your stance is shortsighted.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.I’ve had to revert to the Legacy GCal Events on one site, of course the one with dozens of combinations of calendars, The Old Gallery because people actually depend on this calendar for the correct times for events. I would love to know when you get this fixed because I do love the simplicity of the setup, but I can’t use a calendar that runs in UTC in the MST zone.
I’ve left it in place on the Town of Ward site for the moment as it gets less traffic (tiny town) so I can continue to test if you come up with a solution.
And if you’re NOT having the same issues in the Pro version I’m interested in hearing about it.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.I’m not using GD for either site, Dreamhost for both.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.And to make matters worse, a client just upgraded plugins on a different site, https://www.theoldgallery.org including gcal events which had been working beautifully, (and that I had been avoiding updating to Simple Calendar, cuz there’s a LOT of different calendars on that site), and it’s doing the same thing!
Look I know you don’t do personal support on the free version, and I certainly understand why. Truth be told, I like the format of this plugin better than gcal events, and I would be inclined to buy a license for the sites that use this, but I absolutely can’t afford to buy licenses for something that I can’t get to work right. This is not an insignificant issue, and I’m sure I’m going to have clients screaming at me about the times being SEVEN hours off.
I’m going to have to restore this site to a previous version before the upgrade.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.I just tried several different custom settings including Denver and no effect. Cleared cache. Nothing. Turned off all other plugins, cleared cache. Nada.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] All events are 14 hours off.And I even tried taking [when] off and putting the time in the title, but the times still display (WRONG).

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Not all calendars are displayingOkay, it’s all working again. I had cleared the cache several times on the broken ones as well as checking feeds and shortcodes and settings but today I cleared them one more time and now it’s working. I swear it’s like my car – makes all kinds of funny noises but purrs like a kitty when the mechanic is present.
Thanks for checking back.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Broke every calendar on the siteI deleted the GCE widgets and re-added them and now the calendar grid shows up, but I added an event to one of them in Google Calendar and it’s not showing on the website…
Sigh.
In the past it’s taken a variable amount of time for the feed to “catch” and sometimes after I’ve torn most of my hair out, I come back and the events are finally showing. I’m hoping that is the case again.
I’ll let you know one way or the other.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Broke every calendar on the siteOkay, I deleted the 77 extraneous feeds. Nothing changed and in this case, no change is good news.
However, my troubles are not over yet – six (thus far) of my calendars are not displaying in the widget, although when I “View feed”, I can see the appropriate calendars, some even with events. But in the widgets it’s just blank, no error message (GOOD news). Some of these are ones where I’ve gone through and corrected the feeds and/or set the period of time to something other than 0. Some I corrected today and some of them I corrected 2 days ago and nothing has changed yet.
Any further ideas?
