Hi, I have a new problem. I am going to need to republish my website. But it is down and I can’t log into it. To access the Updraft Plus backups there. I do have them stored via the cloud on Google Drive. So I could upload those backup files from there. However, I have no idea how to do it. Would it be a case of using FTP publishing? How do I go about doing that to upload a backup to the site?

It’s at rainbowriting.com if it would help you to load the site and see the error message.

I need to talk to someone about deleting both Backup Guard Gold and Backup Guard Platinum from my account. Then reinstalling Gold and then getting a refund for Platinum. I only need BG Gold, not Platinum. I think I could get by taking only manual backups for Gold, but both Gold and Platinum are deactivated in my account. I can’t activate or delete either one of them, my www.ads-software.com account at rainbowriting.com will not let me do either thing. I think they have to be manually uninstalled via the some way in the site’s HTML or otherwise code. It’s a Linux system hosted on www.ads-software.com and also hosted at InMotion Hosting.

I need to put my execution time in seconds for PHP scripts back to either a reasonable number or to the Unlimited setting. So that I can install the plugin All in One SEO Pro from Semper Plugins. I need that plugin, I think. Is there some way to make the PHP time flexible, or unlimited, or to stop the error some other way than having an extremely long execution time for PHP scripts? I have now bought BackupGuard Platinum, but I’m at a loss about this problem. I think we need to fix it some other way than having a long time such as 30,000 seconds for executing PHP scripts. Maybe either make the time normal, shorter again like it was originally, or make the time Unlimited. And find some other way to make the error regarding BackupGuard be fixed, so that the backups will run.

My site is about 1 GB in total size, pages/blogs/settings and all. I keep getting this error, even though I had them increase the PHP scripts execution time to 300,000 seconds. Could I just upgrade to Backup Guard Platinum to fix this? Currently I have Backup Guard Gold. Would that work somehow?

Here’s the error message I keep getting, over and over and over again. I think the original PHP scripts execution time was something like 30 seconds.

BackupGuard Error: PHP EXECUTION TIMEOUT ERROR

Your hosting has an execution time limit of 300000 seconds for PHP scripts, which is not enough for performing a full backup/restore of your website. A full website backup/restore is a complex process which may take a couple of minutes depending on many circumstances. The needed execution time varies depending on the backup options and your server performance, that’s why we cannot tell exactly how much execution time is needed. But, almost all hosting providers give users the ability to increase the execution time limit or they increase it themselves, upon user request. Please ask your hosting provider if they are able to increase your execution time limit. If this isn’t an option for you, then try to activate the “Reloads enabled” option in the settings (to compress your data chunk by chunk). Then disable any security plugin which could prevent nopriv ajax calls and try again to create a new backup. If you still see this error, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you figure it out ASAP.

    Dear Ozzymuppet,

I understand you do a “fair amount of WordPress development.” Is it possible to hire your services in this regard? I don’t know if I can do that here. Do you do PHP development, especially involved in the execution of PHP scripts?

I can’t add any more WordPress plugins to my WordPress.com blog site. It returns a 404 page error and says I don’t have permission to use plugins or to make SEO changes on my site. Now I’m stuck, after having upgraded to All in One SEO Pack Pro. I don’t even know if I should delete my original plugin for that. Also, the 404 error page doesn’t say whether it’s due to my upgrade or changing the settings for the new plugin.

Hi, I have the same problem. They want my web host which is Inmotion to increase the execution time for PHP scripts. Meanwhile, what do I do when I’m continuously adding blog posts and the site is growing bigger, not smaller? How big does the execution time for PHP scripts have to be in order to ensure that the site takes a backup that works, and that can be restored perfectly, with at most only minor tweaks needed? I have a ten to eleven page site, and 60+ (there will be more) blog posts.

Yes, I’ll give your product five stars. Where do I go to give them? But I need you to have a better refund policy, where you give refunds without making people jump through lots of hoops. Do you have that yet? Or any evidence of that?

Meanwhile the backup service appears to be working. I just need to handle this with you tomorrow or so. Thanks again, this may be the backup service I was looking for for my ten-page not so complicated website.

Once I reactivated only for Google Drive, I got a good downloaded copy of the backup. So maybe all is okay. I just need to be able now to check over the backup somehow. I downloaded the Google Drive cloud copy as instructed and installed SGBP Extractor, but I still have no idea what to do to ensure my backup is perfect and error-free. I am paying only $30 a year for this, but I used to pay another backup service $70 a year and got only errors and no real backup from them. So how can I check to be sure I’m getting a real, solid backup of my website and that it is working, each time? How can I upload the backup to somewhere to inspect and see if the backup will work?
