When I just typed a quick test post and saved it, it did not save, did not post, and did not show up in the error log.Scratching my head…

In reply to: posts NOT Saved–several threads–no answers–huh? After I type in the post, it doesn’t matter whether I try saving it by clicking “Save and continue editing” or “Save” or “Publish”, the post disappears. It doesn’t get saved or posted to the blog.
I re-enter post and go through same motion again and it still won’t save or publish. Usually, by the 3rd or 4th time, it will work.
Any ideas?
Thanks

In reply to: no place to add comments to postsMoshu, I tried creating a new subfolder “wp” to put all the WP subfolders and files into. That worked. And I’ve copied the 3 wp subfolders into it. There are 17 wp-files that I can move. I’ll copy those too and still leave everything as it is and not delete anything until I hear back from you to make sure this is what you suggested.

In reply to: no place to add comments to postsYou guys must have the patience of a saint! And I’m really only a numb-nut when it comes to this stuff. Otherwise, I’m a fairly intelligent person.
Yes, I’d like to keep the existing index.html file as my site’s main page.

In reply to: no place to add comments to postsPlease bear with me. Truly, you might as well be speaking greek to me with this stuff. And I’m nervous that a wrong move in the ftp manger will just cause a host of other headaches. The wp folders ARE currently subfolders of the public_html. To make sure I understand, are you saying that they should’t exist as separate folders and files but all be moved into one folder?

In reply to: no place to add comments to poststo moshu–if they shouldn’t exist in the same file, what do I do. Can either be safely deleted? If so, which one goes?

In reply to: no place to add comments to postsThe WP folders are in the public_html folder. The WP folders are: wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes. As I mentioned, the public_html folder also has an index.html file and an index.php file.
The wp-admin has an index.php file, but no index.html file. The wp-content folder has plug-ing and theme subfolders and an index.php file. That theme subfolder has the default theme and an index.php file and a comments.php file.
Pastebin hasn’t offered any help.
Hoping this additional info holds a key to solving this.
thanks

In reply to: no place to add comments to postsOkay, what I found is that I do have both the index html and php in my public_html folder. Does this need to exist somewhere else as well?
