No plugins for affiliate. But the link above is the very first post that I started to add my affiliate link. All this trouble occurred yesterday after I completed another post with the same affiliate.
Should I go and strip out the links to see if that helps?

In reply to: 404 with google webmaster tools not recognising the siteThat was under the heading of errors. I clicked the tag soft 404 and when I click the link it says page does not exist.
Googlebot couldn’t crawl this URL because it points to a non-existent page. Generally, 404s don’t harm your site’s performance in search, but you can use them to help improve the user experience.

This is weird, some how one of my affiliate links has been tagged on the end of one of my blog posts. This is not a link to a post on my website anyway. Which is https://www.healthytreefrog.com

In reply to: 404 with google webmaster tools not recognising the siteOk did that and it says:
Googlebot couldn’t access the contents of this URL because the server had an internal error when trying to process the request. These errors tend to be with the server itself, not with the request.
So does that mean I need to contact my Godaddy and get them to sort it?

In reply to: 404 with google webmaster tools not recognising the siteDo you mean in the webmaster tools? There’s nothing to click there. I watched a video earlier showing diagnostics in the menu and I can’t find that.
I know what posts are producing 404’s to be honest its most of them.

Hey that worked! Thank you so much, been trying to sort this out for weeks. ??
Ok alchymyth, I’ll try that. I have read the https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Permalinks#Structure_Tags and find it a bit heavy going. Though I did see the %category% and was going to try that.
Hi alchymyth,
I am using custom permalinks /%postname%. and /%topics% in the category base.This is the code in my category.php:
<?php
if ( ! defined( ‘ABSPATH’ ) ) exit; // Exit if accessed directly
get_header();
get_template_part(THEME_INCLUDES.”news”);
get_footer();
?>
I am using an Orange theme called Gadgetine but the problem was present before this theme.
I haven’t edited any files.
