In reply to: [Kraken.io Image Optimizer] Can not update the pluginHi there,
I just used a clean test server to try to install a new plugin (as well as update an existing one).
I could not reproduce the problem you are reporting. Could you try again, perhaps, and have any changes been made to your WordPress install recently?Hi,
Would it be possible that you could grant me temporary admin access? Email is ksalman at kraken dot io

Hi,
Sorry for the delay on this. Is it possible that cURL is not enabled on your new PHP installation? Our plugin does work on PHP7/WP 4.8

In reply to: [Kraken.io Image Optimizer] Plugin Works Great, But It's Paid OnlyHi Kraisor,
Thank you for the feedback.
Our plans start at $3 / month (or $30 a year) for safe, proven image optimization which has been in development since 2012 – which we think is pretty reasonable considering the costs involved and the development time sunk into this.
That said, if you reach out to us on [email protected] we can perhaps fix you something which better suits your usage pattern, if non of our existing plans fit your needs.
Have a nice day,
Karim
Hi melonman,
Thank you for the review. Actually, creating a free account with us gets you 100MB of testing quota. If you need more than that, you can always request more quota. Moreover, you can always use Kraken.io’s Web Interface for free: https://kraken.io/web-interface

In reply to: [Kraken.io Image Optimizer] Latest Announcement from Kraken.ioHi there,
Thanks for the message, and sorry for the delayed response. I’m *supposed* to be emailed when things get posted to the forum, but apparently that’s not working.
Anyway, to answer your question, there is nothing to worry about, since the Kraken.io WordPress plugin does not rely on the “callback_url” feature of our API. Only app/web developers using the callback mechanism will need to make a change to tell their applications to accept JSON as the callback data format (instead of URLEncoded).
So in summary, there’s nothing to do here, or think about. Lastly, the plugin will be updated with some major enhancements ahead of the WordPress 4.4.4 release.
Sincerely,
Karim

In reply to: [Kraken.io Image Optimizer] Option to not Krak PleaseHi Brian,
Actually, the “not to Krak” feature has been there a while now.
In Settings->Kraken.io simply uncheck the “automatically optimize uploads” checkbox.
That way, you can upload images (without having to wait for them to krak) and then do them manually from your Media Library. In other words, in this way you won’t have to keep disabling the plugin and then reactivating it.
I hope that helps,
Karim

In reply to: [Kraken.io Image Optimizer] Not free, should not be among WP pluginsHi,
Yes, indeed – as advertised there is an initial 50MB quota allowance for testing, and thereafter you will need to pay to support the service.
The one star rating for this *issue* is, in my opinion, unjust.
Sincerely,
Karim
