Hi @techjewel.
I just tried removing the custom workaround we put in place while waiting for an official workaround (Bunny Fonts) or a real solution (serving the fonts from the WordPress server). The fix introduced in 2.8.42 does either no longer work or didn’t work in the first place.

The latest Wordfence update tried to address this and got it almost right. I accidentally created a new topic since this topic had been marked as resolved before the issue got resolved.

@beatcore I’m not with the Spectra team, but I would recommend restoring to the latest backup since the database updater overwrites the last modified date of all posts it updates.
See https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/spectra-database-update-in-progress-for-days/ and https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/database-update-changed-posts-modified-date/.
18 hours ago, I submitted this post in Spectra’s Facebook group since the database updater hasn’t been retracked yet (even though it causes irreparable damage to the database that many site admins might not realize before it’s too late to just restore the latest backup).
Unfortunately, the Facebook post has not been approved yet.
The database updater released in Spectra 2.13.9 overwrites the posts’ last modified dates. If you’ve already run the updater, you might want to restore your last backup. The issue persists in Spectra 2.14.0 though it seems to only butcher the last modified date for posts with Spectra blocks.
(I’ve opened a support ticket and another Spectra user has reported the issue in the WordPress forums.)
Wow. That’s horrible! We also rely on the modification date for terms and conditions so it could have had legal implications for us if we had run the update.
This database update is an utter mess. Luckily, we only have Spectra blocks on a few pages, so getting rid of Spectra won’t be too difficult.
The update successful showed up now, so the database update had been running in the background without a visual indicator. The process took 1 hour 10 minutes.
Today’s Spectra 2.14.0 release solved the issue for us.
Thanks! I appreciate it very much.
I checked which pages we had used Spectra blocks on with the Find My Blocks plugin.
I had the same issue when updating the database on our staging site. The process took more than ten hours on a 8 EPYC Core 64 GB RAM server even though we have Spectra blocks on less than ten pages (we try to stick to the native blocks until Spectra launches a beta program to catch these issues before they roll out the updates). Unfortunately, while the database update was in progress, all styles broke on the frontend, so we will not be able to run the update on our live site until this bug is addressed.
I reached out to Spectra’s support team. They are aware of the issue.
Thanks for the answer. I can of course not speak for @saschinger, but I’m not looking for an integration with cookie consent banners. They are annoying, so we rather ask our users for consent when required.
Everything we would need is the poster to be loaded from our server and an overlay with a consent button. No data should load from YouTube until consent has been given.
See e.g., how Nextcloud has solved the situation on https://nextcloud.com/office/ (the embedded Vimeo video).

I can confirm the post order issue as well.
I can confirm that the odd refresh behavior also affects our Spectra site’ WP Admin after updating to the latest Spectra version.
(And the database upgrade process took over ten hours.)
I would love to use Presto Player for YouTube videos if there were a way for us to do it. The GDPR compliance issue is the main reason we can’t use it, but we’re also hindered by the lack of support for captions. If Presto Player addressed both the GDPR compliance and accessibility issues, it would open a whole new market.
(I’m not sure if Presto Player can add support for YouTube captions since Plyr Player doesn’t seem to support it. I hope I’m wrong.)
@wfpeter, do you have any updates on when Wordfence will support the WordPress’ native login block, introduced in WordPress 5.8 (July 2021)?
