  • You get an edit screen, where you can edit the text, and you make a few line breaks by hitting “enter” key, and your cursor should be in the position where you want the image to appear. Then you look down to the “browse” button, and click it. This will bring you into your computer’s directories, where you find the file you want. When you see the path to it in the screen, then hit the “upload” button. It is not necessary to fill in “title” and “description”. Then hit the “save to editor” button, and you should see your image in its place in the text. Hit “save and continue editing” or “save”, and then you can check what the page looks like by going up to the very top, in the blue background, and hitting “view site” (or view something…). From there you can go to the bottom of your page, and click on “edit”, and it throws you back into your editing mode, where you can locate the next place in your text that you want to place a picture.

When trying to uploading image I get this error message:

“Unable to create directory /home/tnj/public_html/aletalog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

What does this mean, and how do I get it to find or create the directory?

Falcon1986, Thank you so much for posting the link to that neat video! We followed the instructions to access the database, encrypted new username and password, replaced the old ones, and I now have access to the dashboard of my blog again.

That was a neat video tutorial at the link you suggested! I will try entering the database, and see whether I can change the username – as I think that is my first challenge – then I will see whether I can guess my password, or have to change that too. Thanks! I’ll post again when I’m either successful or stumped!

I tried that. It says “invalid user name” – not invalid password. I’m wondering where in my C Panel I can find the username if I did change it from “admin”

I need help finding my username and password – I’m effectively locked out of my blog because I’ve forgotten my username. You can’t be sent a new password if you’ve forgotten your username! There may be some place in my C panel that has recorded the username – does anyone know where in the C panel I would look for that?
