Gutenberg is designed exactly to match the needs of a lot of users right now can’t use and have a lot of problems with the existing editor.

You guys keep repeating this on all negative reviews here, yet you don’t really tell what those problems are. I don’t see that these people have problems though.

So clearly, there are problems with the current editor and the publishing flow doesn’t work well as it could. Please tell us what are the problems and how different is the publishing flow with Gutenberg?

With Gutenberg, if you are just expanding the capabilities of the current editor, why not just leave it as a plugin?

To assume that everyone making Gutenberg has never worked with clients is a wrong assumption.

I’m not sure what prompted you to write this, but I never said that anywhere.

The entire publishing flow right now doesn’t work as well as it could. For those that know the ‘WordPress way’ it’s working, but that’s not a way forward.

I am still confused about the part ‘doesn’t work as well as it could’! For whom?

I’ve been using WordPress for almost six years now and never faced any issues so far. Even the survey results that you have linked shows that there are no issues with the default editor. It works well for the majority of the community!

Perhaps ‘the way forward’ for you is more of a cosmetic expansion under compulsion. In that case, again… It should be a plugin! Expansion components clearly belong to that domain!

As a WordPress user and a developer, I stand with the idea that you should keep this as a plugin! These are just my 0.02$!

@karmatosed, you haven’t responded yet. You said that a lot of people have issues with default editor. Could you tell us what type of issues? Where has this been reported? Perhaps can you link us some cases of such reports?

And again, even if such reports exist, I am sure it’s not from ‘a lot’ of users. It could be true that a very small group of the community might have issues with the default editor. In that case, you should look at the bigger part of the community and make Gutenberg as a plugin and not force into the core.

I’ve already patched the deprecated parts in my development environment and it works fine. Thanks anyway… ?? But I just encountered the same memory issue on a friend’s installation an hour ago, using the latest W3TC. I think an update is recommended universally.

I deactivated the plugin. (Move it out of the plugins folder using FTP)

My case: I have two RPWE on my mega-menu for each menu items – each displays Recent Posts (based on category) and Random posts (Based on tags). It’d be a pain to manually type in the taxonomies for all the menus items. :/

And it’s always good to have those two separately… Limit to category and tags -> This is the only reason why I love the plugin ??

Hope you fix it soon ?? I just downgraded the plugin to 0.9.3.
I’d also like to have the limit by category and limit by tag option in the future versions. I don’t know why you wanna remove it…

I’m struggling too. :/ Unfortunately, I guess it is cloaked… I resubmitted all my links to the Google index, but I still see them.

I added a firewall and made a prefix change to the db tables! Also changed the default login page URL as there were a few brute force login attempts too…

I too miss the same stuff! I usually add custom css to the images and now I’m missing it… Hope the next revision includes that feature ??

myksmith, Reasons for the one star/one word review and why it is disappointing:

1. I’m forced to deliver my site in https so that your plugin would work fine. (My admin panel is through https and my site is not)

2. I didn’t find any useful integration as I expected… (As I’m unable to manage the ads, all I have left is a link to the adsense reports and webmaster tools (which I’ve verified already)

myksmith, I apologize if you and your team behind this plugin are offended by this. But still, I’m disappointed with this plugin and nothing is going to change my views.

I’d like to reinstall the plugin as soon as the https issue is fixed ??
