  • Hi, thank you for your timely response.

I am not using any security plugins. I do use Pantheon for hosting which may have some security measures associated with it. However, I found an interesting caveat today while troubleshooting this. If I do not touch the WPS Hide Login plugin and update the plugin then it works fine with the latest WP update to 6.7.1. I am also able to adjust the settings with no problems.

However, if I deactivate/reactivate the plugin after I made the WP 6.7.1 update, it does not work.

Or if I add the WPS Hide login plugin after I update to WP 6.7.1, it does not work.

In both those instances, does not work = It 404’s both the /wp-admin/ page and the /my-custom-url/ page. Forcing me to manually delete the plugin in order to gain access to my site again.

I have found this to be true on a variety of sites I manage that use a variety of plugins. By default, all of my sites have the following plugins ACF Pro, Yoast SEO, Native PHP Sessions (Pantheon hosting related plugin), Shortpixel and WPS Hide Login.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot the issue further!

Ok, now I just looked further and some of the other sites I recently updated did not have the same problem I listed above. Even though they are running the same WordPress version and plugin version. Very strange…

Just wanted to share in case this helps when you’re troubleshooting. Thank you for your attention to this manner.

Hi, I’m experiencing the same issue.

After updating my site to WordPress 6.7.1 and updating WPS Hide Login to 1.9.17.1 the WordPress admin login is inaccessible. I am unable to login to the WordPress admin at all. Not with the default /wp-admin/ or with my new URL. I had to delete the plugin my local and push to my repo in order to get access to the admin of the site again. I tried this 2 times to ensure the WPS Hide settings were correct and faced the same problem each time.

Please update the plugin ASAP! This plugin is usually fool proof. This is the first time it has caused me any issues with updates.

Although the plugin details said it was not compatible with the latest version of WordPress (only to 6.2.2) I was hoping it was still going to work because it has in the past. I may need to get another hide login plugin in the meantime until this is fixed.

What to you mean by activate a default theme? I am using Bones WordPress theme which is a bare bones theme that provides the basic structure for a WordPress site. I am a Web Developer who makes custom WordPress templates off of this base theme.
