Problem solved. Looks like the ID columns were’nt set to autoincrement when I rebuilt the tables.

Same problem here with 2.0.2. For what it’s worth, disabling the WordPress cache seems to have solved the problem.

2.0.2 should have caching disabled by default. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I’m also receiving the fatal error running this plugin on 1.5. Looking for a quick fix short of upgrading.

Oh man, this is absolutely one of those things where the response (or lack thereof) is actually making things worse than the initial problem. Kind of reminds me of what happened when SixApart changed their licensing a while back.

There are way too many hot button aspects to this story. Matt et al need to make an official statement asap. Until they do rumours will continue to spiral out of control.

FWIW, I give Matt the benefit of the doubt on this one. Based on his previous post from a few weeks back I think he’s basically been taken advantage of by a content provider who offered him a deal that was too good to be true (here, host this content for me and I’ll pay you a flat fee). Matt was clearly left holding the bag.
At this point the only thing I think Matt is guilty of is a serious lapse in judgement.

I’m happy to see the WordPress foundation (and it’s employees and volunteers) profit from their work. However, as the Waxy article indicated, there needs to be a little more transparancy.

Here’s hoping that Matt finds a hotspot in Italy and makes an effort to put some of this to rest.

Trying not to reinvent the wheel here. Adsworth’s plugin is nice but my needs are a bit closer to AuntiAlias’. Adsworth, if you’re still following this thread, do you plan on releasing an update with the AuntiAlias mods included?

Yes, Drupal does quite a bit more, but I’m just looking to transfer the blog postings and user database.
I’d considered importing the RSS feeds. Is there a WP script to import RSS to posts?

No such luck for me. I even tried importing from BlogRoll after making the suggested changes and that failed as well.
