I guess there is an error, it takes me right to an error 500 screen, and I can no longer access the site, or login to wordpress. I have to ftp into my files, delete the entire woocommerce folder and then I can get back in. It’s a straight up fatal error, no warnings, as soon as I activate any version above 3.3.3, BOOM. Site is down.

I have zero clue how to update PHP or MySQL, and have been looking for answers for hours.

OK, good news is I finally was able to track down a log in to the host server. I had to delete the WOOCOMMERCE plug in folders.

Site is back up and running. I backed up the woocommerce files locally, so I didn’t have to rebuild anything. However, I can not re-install Woocommerce. The option to download an older version of the plugin does not exist. The current version crashes my site every time I add it. This kind of sucks. So no webstore for now. I am contemplating just using paypal buttons instead. (actually, honestly considering moving our entire site to Wix, which has integration with a lot more plug in options, and not all these freaking layers of logins required to get access to everything. And WYSIWYG editor is much better.)

Has anyone figured out why Woocommerce keeps crashing sites? Is it only our site? This is the weak link right now, and it’s super frustrating for us and our customers.

Thanks. It’s a non-profit and I have no f’ing clue who the hosting provider is. They dropped us years ago, but actually never stopped hosting the site, so I have no one to contact. This really sucks. At this point, with no access to the hosting database, I see no other option but to move our domain name to another host, and start over with a new website.

I downloaded filezilla (which I haven’t used in decades) but I have no idea how to login there. The Login I use on wordpress is my email address and a password. This is not working to login via FTP. I really have no fucking clue how to get in and fix this if none of my login info will work anywhere.
