I will have to think about that. DNS is all run inside of each node. There may be a way to use that, but hadn’t thought about it. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the response. This is a self hosted website, and I am running Apache as the web server. I will look into the first 2 options and also look into other plugins to replace Bubbypress(This would probably be the easiest method).

thanks for the info, Ill try there. I was sure it had to do with the Duplicator plug in because it was running the backup that started this issue, but after uninstalling apache, PHP, and wordpress and then reinstalling apache, it was still changing to the IP. I will admit that I am not at the top of the game with linux or hosting, I can just follow tutorials really well, so when something like this happens, it really throws me off. although, I am learning a lot about the file structure and permissions, so at least some good has come out of this.

I started thinking about the htaccess file, so I tried something, I deleted wordpress from the server, typed in my URL, and the apache homepage opened with the IP address again. I deleted apache and reinstalled, and it still changes the URL to an IP address. so the issue is rooted deeper. I tried changing the vhost file for the URL, but still it pops up with the IP address. so basically, I still have no idea.

Thanks for the response, but sadly, this did not fix it. is there something that could be done differently from the beginning to fix this, or is it a Duplicator plugin issue? if I need to start from scratch and reinstall Centos on the server, I can do that. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

I have already done that, that’s where the issues start. One I change the site URL, I am locked out of the website and none of the links work. I then go in to the user table in the database and change the password for the user, and it still does not work.
