In reply to: [Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder] JQueryHi Patrick,
I’m referring to the major work WordPress is doing to move away from use of legacy jQuery (i.e. 1.x) to a more modern version (i.e. 3.5.1). This is well underway but the latest upgrade was bumped from WP 5.7 – but will surely be introduced soon.
As a developer of many plugins I’m sure your company is only too well aware of these changes.
I need you to confirm that Forminator either doesn’t use jQuery or has been modified already to ensure that can accommodate these forthcoming changes to jQuery in WP – your rival plugin Contact Form 7 failed abysmally to do so and has caused many thousands of contact forms to fail as a result.
If you can’t provide me with the reassurance I seek, then I’ll simply have to look elsewhere for another form solution (luckily there are many available).
I’d appreciate a swift response…
Thanks,

In reply to: [UpdraftCentral Dashboard] Admin Bar Missing on UpdraftCentral PageHi sirlouie,
I had the same problem but fixed it with specific CSS:
- #wpadminbar.nojq {visibility: visible !important;display: initial !important;}
It works a treat.

In reply to: [UpdraftCentral Dashboard] Error on Feature Requests Form on UpdraftPlus.comHi,
I raised this nearly 3 weeks ago…..
…there were 2/3 additional replies (with Bryle, including screenshots that I supplied) to this thread – they’ve disappeared?
…can someone please update me with progress and explain where these missing parts of this thread are? Thanks,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] UpdraftPlus.com Website ErrorHi Bryle,
Thanks – screenshots as follows:
- Form showing white on white in decription field
- Same but with typed text highlighted in order to view it!
- Chrome DevTools highlighting CSS causing the problem
- CSS file (autoptimize) is in cache on Updraftplus.com
Hope the above helps….and looking forward to a fix!
Cheers,

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] UpdraftPlus.com Website ErrorHi Bryle,
I use Chrome – but I’ve also checked it on Firefox and I get the same problem.
BTW, I’m using a Windows 7 desktop PC.
After a bit more digging, I’ve found the culprit by using Chrome DevTools…it appears that the CSS that’s causing my issue is:
.js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area {color:#fff;} coming from autoptimise in your site’s cache!
If I deselect the above using DevTools I can see the text in the field.
I can supply screenshots – but I don’t know where to email them to…
Thanks,

Hi Sven,
Other Options
I mean that users seeking plugins that help with forms have a good selection to choose from. So plugins providing forms functionality must either be huge and incorporate a vast amount of functionality or simply provide the best solution to a much narrower problem. All I’m saying here is that your plugin (for me anyway) is in the middle and therefore there are better solutions.Pro vs Free & Missing Functionality
I simply think that the balance of features in this plugin is too heavily weighed in favour of the Pro side. Thus I had to spend out a fair bit on the Pro version to test the functionality I required – only to discover it didn’t really solve my problems to my satisfaction. In particular, I was disappointed that a feature I needed had been requested by someone else last year – but it still had not been added.Development
I’m not a plugin published myself – though I have written some, I do not make them public. So I fully appreciate the amount of time and effort required to build and support a plugin. As I’ve said above, forms plugins is a highly competitive area and if you are a one-man-band it is going to be very difficult indeed to keep developing a forms plugin as quickly as competitors who have a team of developers working on it full time.Constructive Criticism
Sven, I really think Buddyforms is a very good plugin. All I’m trying to say is that it faces huge competition from similar plugins developed by larger organisations – whose plugins are more mature because they have more resources available.Cheers,

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Google API QueryHi Fulvio,
Thanks.
I have successfully obtained and set my API key – using the excellent doc associated with the plugin. However, I noted that Google have made some slight changes to the API/Project screens and your plugin’s documentation is now missing a few details etc. So you may now want to update the documentation to fully reflect these changes.
Cheers,
GregThanks @juozascc – that fixed it!
It appears that the upgrade.php in 199 doesn’t work but the one in 198 does.
So all I had to do was:
1. Download v198 to my computer [1.9.8 (svn) link under “Other versions” on Developers tab in Plugin Directory]
2. Deactivate NextGEN plugin and delete folder from server
3. Upload the zip’d v198 file [Plugins -> Add New -> Upload]
4. Activate v198 NextGEN plugin
5. Click link shown in warning message / use Gallery menu to upgrade the database
6. All works again – then optionally update to v199 NextGEN plugin (successfully this time!):
6a. Click update now on v198 NextGEN plugin to update to v199
6b. Plugin reactivates and no further database update is required
6c. All works fine again – phew!…and relax.

In reply to: WP forums need improvement..I’ve just posted to the wrong forum – it would be good to be able to move a post to another forum in cases like this.
Instead I’ve had to mark the original as Resolved and post again in the correct forum.

In reply to: can’t get $user_ID in pluginmanstraw, the plug-in you describe is exactly what I’m looking for – to provide each registered user the ability to upload their own image to their profile. I’ve searched the web for “headshot plugin” etc. but not found your plugin or web site etc!
I did find your comment on Andrew Ferguson’s post about modifying the user menu (https://www.andrewferguson.net/2006/05/16/add-data-to-user-field-in-wordpress/), and others like this thread on the WordPress site itself.
Do you still use/have the “headshot” plugin code or if not do you know where I can find a plugin to do the same thing?
Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.
