In reply to: [Duplicate Post] Works well but too annoyingHi Nick, yes well I use my reviews sparingly…. and yest it does
I want to use it its the best out there excepting for unnessary huge hover over pops.
…then because I always deactivate it after use, I get some on the big pop ups come back.
why not just have an option to turn these all off then you have the best plugin
thanks

In reply to: [Duplicate Post] Works well but too annoyingGidday Mixha,

I want to add that I really like the solid way the plugin works – but I always deactivate it after use because of the annoying popup on hover on an admin screen.
While I realise this is might be helpful for some people for someone who spends so much time in the admin panel this is really really annoying for one field on the posts admin screen to decide it’s OK to popup if I hover over it.
Imagine if every admin extension did this ?
If I could turn this off as an option – 5 starts! it’s otherwise perfect
cheers

In reply to: [Swift Performance Lite] DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PLUGINPeople considering a SWIFT purchase need to ask themselves if the software is any good why do SWIFT behave in this mercenary fashion ?
automatic image optimization is really useful but the rest of it is just piffle in my experience; no substitute for decent code and the reason so many people forget about the plugin and recurring no warning charges.
…the refusal to refund for unused software is just bizarre and creates a lack of trust which is the antithesis of the wordpress community.
@oliver1444 – The idea of FOSS is that the community will contribute.
Some will contribute with code; others with testing; others with translations and others with documentation etc.
Usually finding and documenting things is well received.
I found trying to get this plugin going an exercise in extreme frustration and in 10 years of wordpress, 40 years of operating system configs… for the first time I simply gave up due to the lack of co-operation of the developer.
…I decided to leave no review because we should be reviewing the software not the developer, but I sympathize with everyone who was unable to get it working.
OK so I sorted this out….
There was no other plugin or snippet setting the old UA property.
The property was being set in google tag manager, in a variable called Google Analytics Setting – which is a default setting label.
I created a new variable with the new property and called it UA-12345678 setting which makes a lot more sense since the UA id is otherwise so hard to notice.
hope this helps other people.
Actually I filled out the form and got now reply; I can access both properties

In reply to: [Kadence] how can i change the URL the logo goes to?@britner, is it possible to delete the erroneous links… I copy pasted before reading to the bottom.
..and then failed to test the code by executing once (code snippet option) and staying on the code snippets screen.
oh and btw thanks it worked fine in the end

In reply to: [GiveWP - Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform] Impressively BadI have come to realisation that if GiveWP is installed on a site – the main purpose of the site would naturally be to take donations. This might explain the split between mostly very happy customers and people like me. No only for GiveWP but other donation plugins.
The answer now seems self evident
2 sites
https://mysite.org – (fast with good SEO)
https://donate-subdomain.mysite.org (secure and hidden as much as possible from most bots)I expect this would deal with many issues like
Donor Spam
Plugin conflicts
Main site slowness due to the styles and JS Ben says needs to be loaded even when there is no form on the page…..Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Media Cleaner: Clean your WordPress!] importance of unattached imagesno worries Jordy, thanks for replying.
Some reading lead me to a memory of an old gallery plugin, or maybe wordpress version which used attached images to populate the gallery.
anyway I think I finally got it
Media cleaner pro scans for used images…, and does not reattach images (this function seems to be mostly redundant), but rather acts as a safe guard from deleting images which are actually in use.
Seems invaluable since most sites I look after are full of so called unattached images which makes cleaning all but impossible without out such a utility.

In reply to: [Simple User Avatar] Constant reminder for donations – cannot be dismissed..this message is still popping up every day or so
cheers@benzoid any ideas on this.
To explain, it’s confusing for many people to have one remaining legacy widget to add a podcast when almost everything else has moved into the right hand sidebar.
This raises the question of when or if gutenberg blocks will be supported
cheers
Ben,
sorry I missed your reply – in the meantime I decided to drop vlog as it’s build on the redux framework in favor of Kadence theme to avoid conflicts
