In reply to: Unable to load any imagesI feel like smashing my head with a sledge hammer. I’m having the same problem here. I tried going to my Dashboard’s Miscellaneous Settings. I made sure that the “Store uploads in this folder” field had the value of:
wp-content/uploads
Still i am unable to upload images.
I get the error:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/httpd/vhosts/energyworkforce.net/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2008/12.I’m really confused about this chmod thingy?
Which folder in the server’s root folder do i chmod to 777?
The wp-content folder or the uploads folder which is inside wp-content or both?Which folder do i chmod to 755 or 777?
I even went to the extent of opening phpMyadmin, going to wp-options and browsing the database and looking for upload_path row and ensuring that the value is wp-content/uploads.
It still didnt work.
whooami, please guide us. Thanking everybody for their thoughts and views,
Kenneth

In reply to: Transferring my locally developed wordpress site to a webserver?I managed to create a database with the webhosts tools and i edited the wp-config.php file to match the required details. After creating the database i managed to import the database from my desktop and i managed to put in all the files.
Please visit https://www.energyworkforce.net, there is a problem. The homepage is appearing with no style sheet and when i hover over each link, i see at the browser that it points to localhost. For example the main header of the page, when i hover over it, it shows https://localhost/energyworkforce
Why is this, is there anything i need to edit?
Thanks a million!
Kenneth

In reply to: Name of databaseNow this may be a stupid question but i have no idea on what to name the database. How do you name your database appropriately? Should it describe the content? After checking with the web hosting company, they said that i can only create 1 database. I’m really new to this wordpress thingy and i dont see any tutorial that explains what you should name databases created for wordpress. All of them just show you how to create the database.
Thanking you in advance for all you thoughts and views,
Kenneth Jaysone Francis
