ok I figure I would check out another theme and see if that one worked. It does show comments so I must have something wrong with the theme I want to use.

Right now the site is up and running with a default install database.
Running correctly. I have another database called wordpress that I imported the old 65 meg database into. Is this the way I should do it or should I just restore the old database right into the working database now?

I can also just change the database name and login into in wp-config.php and go back to a known good default database. So it’s not the php files.

I just wonder if I’m doing the mysql database restore the right way.

yea FTP. The site was working with a generic install and then I restored the old database with the same name and login as what was there.

Now the site either doesnt render or it’s all jumbled text.

PHP Version 4.3.9
fresh install with only WP 2.0.4 files

yes I have and they aren’t telling me anything unusual or problematic.
Permissions are set to what all other php files are. It’s just that the wp- files are not rendering.

I’m going to try a different webhost.

I tried that and they shouldn’t be on for anything but when I did turn them on it didn’t make a difference.

php files render ok but it seems like WP php files dont want to execute.
https://kensavage.com/info.php works ok but not https://kensavage.com/wp-admin

php files have proper permissions to be read and index.php is listed as a starting file for default fodler files in httpd.conf.

They’re telling me to turn on register_globals or fix the script’s code to complay with php 4.3 as far as variables being passed with GET and POST.

Although all I did was upgrade php and did nothing to the files.

its a vps account and they say it’s my responsibility to configure it correctly. Although their the one that wrote the upgrade script for apache and php.

any idea what this would mean?

my webhost upgraded php from 4.1 to 4.6 and now all my php scripts just show the source and not render properly. I was told to make it work to turn on register_globals.

Thought that was a basic no no with php?

Yea I’m getting about 40 emails sent per day on average this week.
